Thread: 2019 MOTOGP Season ****SPOILER ALERT*** *****WARNING - SPOILER *******

Re: 2019 MOTOGP Season ****SPOILER ALERT*** *****WARNING - SPOILER *******

Somewhere along the line I thought Cal had said he is happy with his current situation, current spec bike but not the factory team? He also has the Monster / Red Bull issue that several of them do. I would also think he's getting to the point of thinking about retirement?

The problem HRC has is there aren't that many riders 'available', most riders have already signed contracts (not impossible to move, but certainly harder). I'm not sure two brothers on the same team would be the best dynamics, but who knows. I assume we'll see something in the coming days.

Rumor on the mill is that they agreed to a one year contract with Alex, should be announced in the next day or so

I certainly wouldn't rule it out. I don't see Alex being much of a challenge to Marc right off the bat, he obviously has talent (you don't collect world championships by being mediocre) but he doesn't seem quite as dominant as Marc did. Realistically though, HRC would like to find someone to finish right behind MM each race. As dominant as MM has been you have to realize he is something special and devote the teams accordingly.

In terms of the Valencia race, another couple records / statistics for MM. Like him or hate him it's incredible what he accomplished this year. Removing Austin his bad days were 2nd place... Most points in 18 races, most points in 19 races, biggest point gap between 1st and 2nd, etc, etc.

Glad to see Zarco in the pits later in the broadcast, that back flip looked nasty but could of been even worse.

I'm subscribed so I can't tell if this is behind the paywall:

Interesting interview, Marc is in the middle, obviously happy for his brother but would of preferred him in another team. Also says he thinks it's going to be a hard bike for a rookie, plus the added pressure of being compared to your teammate.

Looking at the tests they have Alex down as a LCR rider and not a Repsol rider and can’t be a typo lol

I see that Avintia booted Abraham for Granado last minute, wonder what the story there is. I don’t buy the whole he decided to retire last second deal

There have been a lot of rumors about Zarco ending up there, but it's possible either the contract isn't finalized or he's still hurt.

Avintia had talked about having Granado fill in for Rabat but then didn't, so this may be to get him some MotoGP track time for any future replacement rider needs.
