    Lane filtering

    Good evening from Flahradah!

I was just wondering if anyone had any initial thoughts on the lane filtering that passed in CO back in August and how is the pilot program going so far? Wish we had that shit here. Almost got taken out on Sunday morning out here and man it was an eye opener

I have been incorporating it into my riding when I do ride. Which won't be until April , cause I don't do cold weather.

    Pros:
I will say this much, I get the concept behind the law and yes it does allow for motorcyclist to avoid rear-end collisions and filter to the front to avoid traffic congestion. You can get to the front of the pack and scythe your way to work or home. It really does cut down on time traveled.

    Cons:
It sure does piss people off. I've gotten more dirty looks, people trying to race me and people mouthing off or shaking fists as they go by. The funny thing is, I filter as the law is written. I don't speed down between traffic lanes, and I keep my speed around 15-20mph in order to get to the front promptly. There have been times where I don't make it to the front fast enough, and have to just merge into someone's lane. It is, what it is.

    Conclusion:
I would only lane filter on a Sportbike, Supermotard, Adventure bike(that doesn't have hilariously large saddle bags on it). What I wouldn't filter with are; Harley's(unless it's a Sportster or something stripped down), any metric cruiser that has all the BS on the sides, Gold Wings, etc. Unfortunately, for those bikers that are too large, stay in your lane.

The other problem I have is with all the squids and townies. They think this new law gives them carte blanche to do whatever the hell they feel like. They scream down between lanes. Pass everyone on shoulders at high rates of speed to get to the front. The Squidies have such entitlement and you can see it with the way they ride. They have missed the whole concept of the new law. Which is inevitable, give them an inch and stupid people always take you a mile.

And I believe those of us who are doing our best to practice filtering within the confines of the new law, tend to draw the ire of other motorist because they see little Johnny or Janie rotten crotch scream between vehicles to get to the front. And the public thinks we all are the same.

And one more thing, this is for all you Squids and Townies with those stupid dumbass bunny ears, or masks that go over your helmets. Take that f**kin shit off, it looks stupid and it makes you people look like buffoons. We have a bad enough time with our public image without you snot nosed runts making it worse.

Nice man, glad the law is working for the most part. We have that issue here a lot which is why I'm riding less and less here anymore, bunch of retarded ass motherfuckers out here and even if you're not doing anything wrong, they pick a fight. Had some asshole almost rear end me at like 50 mph at a red light last Sunday and got behind me on purpose just to get a rise out of me (left lane was wide open, I was tracking him down through my mirrors the whole time) thankfully training kicks in and I always leave the bike pointed towards where I need to take evasive maneuvers and I'm in gear glued to my mirrors until at least 3 cars stop behind me, this dude was coming in hot, I didn't leave shit to chance, booked it between the cars and to the front and this dude literally stopped within inches of the car that was in front of me before I chose to lane filter (which is illegal here but given the situation, I didn't give a fuck). I then raise my hand and look back like wtf man, the asshole had the nerve to flip me off and then flash a gun... People out here in FL are mental and straight ignorant dude, literally. You couldn't have said it better, every cager thinks we are all the same and we all ride the same and well we don't, same can be said about cagers, for the great majority they also drive like dick but not all of them do, few of us are settled and don't give a shit about performance awards even if we ride something deemed "fast". The fact that people get triggered at us being able to lane filter is laughable honestly, put their asses on a bike and have them be sitting ducks out there see if they wouldn't be for it right away .... I only ride with my santa helmet cover to charity rides and during christmas just cause kids and families in cars get a laugh and kick out of it but otherwise, I don't wear any of that other shit. About 90% of riders here have those helmet covers and stupid ass accessories, which still shows how many retards from this side of the country moved to CO and have fucked it up. The east coast culture truly is special ed bro, I moved here and it literally feels like I went back in time about 20 years, everything is ass backwards and just ignorant. Will be trading the Tuono for a brand new R6 race bike soon, my street riding days here in FL are over, can't get out for a mellow ride without someone having to show their asses and instigate for no damn reason (like what I mentioned above). Not sure how bad it is in CO in comparison to before but I still feel that it is much safer riding up there than it will ever be down here although legal lane filtering won't ever be a thing here, it gets shot down right away but of course that doesn't stop the idiots from like you said "take advantage" and do whatever anyways. For the poor decisions of a few, we all pay the price.
