As a pilot, that gave me a HUUUUGE woody!!!!! Nothin' like crabbin' it in!!!

That last plane looked almost, if not, 90 deg. to the runway. Evan after he touched down you can see the rudder going full left. AWESOME!!!!!!

    Re: Boeing's In A Crosswind

Those are the Boeing max demonstrated cross wind landings testing. It gives me a woody to watch as well, BUT when you are driving and looking out the side window at the runway, the woody is LONG GONE.

I had to land in HKG in front of a incoming typhoon, we were crabbing in 50kt cross winds all the way to the ground. It was NOT fun, probably the most uncomfortable situation I have been in.

    Gawd...

Wish I could show you the video I took throught the DIA cameras of the aircraft:
    1) During a "Little" Wind-sheer?
    2) A little temperature in the CO summer with a mexican airline. Ever see an aircraft fall BELOW the horizon during takeoff? I showed that video to the chief of the FAA, he kindly asked to borrow it, & soon that airline was begg'n to be allowed to fly in the US again!

I have personally seen this when I was stationed in Kuwait. It was a C5 (military cargo aircraft). The wind did not look that bad, but the C5 landed sideways. I guess the landing gear gets parallel to the runway allowing it to land with the force of the cross wind.

they made some of those landings look easy. amazing skill. kinda makes me wonder what those planes are truly capable of.
