    03R6 Front Sprocket count?

I am currently running a stock sized front sprocket. I am looking to pick up some alt sizes to use next season. What tooth count is the stock front on this bike? Thanks

It should be in your manual. Under specifications, it's the secondary or final drive ration - they give 2 numbers, like 45/15 (just an example) where the smaller number represents the front sprocket tooth count). You can also find this on the Yamaha website. For the 03, stock gearing is actually 48/16.

I thought you had the service manual? It should be in there too.

Your service manual has everything and more! I think that book should come with every bike IMO, they are sooo useful to own.

I know this is a bit late but, I'm pretty sure the stock gearing is the same on the new ones as it is on the 99' to 02' models. Here's a handy guide, to help you know what kind of performance changes you'll get befor you buy.

Interesting. Thanks for the calculator. Looks like it doesnt change a ton but about 6mph up high (4th Gear)

What are you all using for gear ratios on each track? 600's anyway?

I only have one set up,,

    16 in front
    50 in the back, wearing a 520 X ring

I've only been out to SCR and CDR, but Seems to work well for now, next season, I'll invest in more gearing changes

Im at 16/51 at this point. (Thats what came on the bike.) Also using a 520 chain.

Thinking of at least getting a few changes in the ole gear box for different tracks.
