went to start my dads Kawasaki Vulcan 750 today and it wouldnt start. in fact it wouldnt even turn over. after 2 tries it didnt even try to turn over, it would just click rapidly when i hit the Start button. i hooked up cables to jump it with and it turned like 1 revolution maybe (i heard 1 "puff" out of the exhaust, not a backfire) then went silent. after that it did the clicking thing. the third try it didnt turn over, wont try, doesnt even click. i hit the start button and its just silent although the tachometer goes up to 3000 rpms and stays there.

anyone have any ideas what i should look for, or any "*** is broken/blown up/fried/dead/etc" comments.

*edit* went out and unplugged the cables for jump starting. the clicking is back, it tries to turn over once or twice then gives up. the tach isnt freaking out anymore. so i dont think i broke anything, but something somewhere is broken or on its way out. i just dont know what
