    Fuel management

Has anyone used the Dobeck Performance Techlusion Fuel Injection system? I know that there are a lot of supporters of Power Commanders fuel management solutions but I can stomach spending 300+ and then possibly paying an additional 300+ for a Dyno run. I'm currently running a slip-on Akrapovic pipe on my 600rr. It killed my low rpm power. I am also thinking of putting on a K&N filter since it's time for a filter change. I'm under the impression that both of these mods will Lean out my mixture and since the TFI richens things up this may be the way to go. Any thoughts?

Go easy on me. I'm green and this is my first post.

From my understanding the techa system does the same as a PC. You are basically reprogramming the bikes CDI. Without running it on a dyno you will be shooting in the dark.

Techlusion was created by the same guy that originally made the power commander. It's intended to be a lower-cost, no-frills box for people who don't need all the features.

Teka is a device that connects to and reprograms the stock ECU, meaning you don't need a separate box. Not quite as flexible though.

And we all know what Power Commanders are.

In any event you should always get a Dyno tune, especially with aftermarket exhaust and filter. The Techlusion doesn't "richen" anything automatically -- the whole point is that you can select the fuel mapping (rich or lean) across the RPM band and fine tune it to your motor and bike configuration. The maps you might find online are usually crap as well, since each bike is different - especially here at altitude.

    Re: Fuel management

    Thanks for the replies.
Bummer on the forced dyno subject. I see what you mean about shot in the dark with both models. TFI makes their device sound very plug and play with no dyno mentioned anywhere in the literature that I saw.

It also concerns me that you can only richen up the mixture. For this reason Performance doesn't sell TFI. The Performance sales rep I just got off the phone with said "they couldn't get the TFI model to work on the dyno". I hope they were experiencing user error issues.

Despite, I'm still leaning towards the TFI due to its theory of operation and not bypassing the original map. I also don't foresee myself racing or needing the adjustability of PC. I guess the next step is contacting Dobeck to drill them with some questions.
