Isle of Mann TT vs MotoGP

Who is the more skilled racer in your opinion; Moto GP stars or the Isle of Mann TT guys?
If they had time to learn each others tracks, who would be faster?

*Buddau, I fixed your poll question. For some reason it would not allow the users to cast a vote. Lets see how well it works now.

Does anyone know if a MOTOGP racer has participated in Isle of Man?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought this weekend watching WSBK a Isle of Man regular finished in the top 5?

Steve Hislop won it in , 1991, 1992, and 1994 when he was still pretty good in WSB, and Carl Fogerty won it in 1990. The lap record holder John McGuinness did a stint in BSB, but I don't think he went very far. Chris Walker used it as a stepping stone up to WSB, and he's doing pretty well on the Kawi. I think the Moto GP guys are way too sane to do that race, but several superbike riders started out there.

Chris Walker thats it! I think he raced the Isle in 04 and now seems to be doing alright in WSBK.

My vote is for the Isle of Man riders, especially the ones on the Kawi's

My vote is the Isle of Man dudes are a little more on the edge and better "riders", but I bet when at 10/10ths in a controlled area the GP Dudes rein supreme as the better riders.

Two different things. If you are asking who I think pushes it harder or is the better rider it is really impossible.

A guitar and a bass. each musician can push it and practice and be on the cutting edge. Just because one only has 4 strings (many times) versus the other having 6, doesn't mean one musician is better than the other...although many people jump to that conclusion that bass is an easier instrument.

When things are pushed to the limit, that is what it is.

Interesting though....it would be crazy to see pedrosa or stoner at Isle of Man...or Rossi.

I bet pedrosa would do better at isle of man than rossi...where rossi I think does better at moto GP

It's apples and oranges. GP is on the edge all the time with little thought to getting killed.
TT, you can bet those guys know that if they crash they stand a pretty good chance of never getting back up. Look at how many people die doing that compared to GP. Granted they are on the edge too, but with different risk management.

Both are extremly skilled in their respective area.

I concur with Polar X, thus, cannot vote.

You can't compare the two road racing skills in my opinion. Both are insane in different ways.

In TT, you don't have 15-20 people fighting over a corner like in MotoGP, but you have bare rock walls and such ready to annihilate you if you make a mistake.

I must say though, that watching a TT race would be much more thrilling, being able to get so damn close to the racers as they fly right by you.
