    Best route to LaJunta?

What is the easiest route to LaJunta race track from the Denver area?
We took I-25 to 50 last time, slowing down fo those little towns was no fun.
There is another route, anyone ever take it? Is it bike trailer friendly, (smooth road) ? Is it faster than the I-25 route?

The I-70 route is a little faster. Arrow-straight and hilly.

yeah Buddau if you're coming from Colorado Springs, you can take Hwy 94 east to Punkin Center, then take Hwy 71 south til you get to Hwy 50. Either way though you have to hit Hwy 50..

My friend and I made it to La Junta in a hour and a half, that's with hitting all the little towns and having to watch the speed for highway patrol..

I-25 to Hwy 50 is probably the fastest, you can keep your speed up on I-25 get to Pueblo fast, then Hwy 50 is pretty quick..

The way we always take is

    I70 east to Limon

Take Highway 71 South until it dead ends in Rocky Ford turn east on Highway 50

It seems to take some time off the I25 route.

Motorcycle Roadracing! You may not be aware, but there's actually AMA sanctioned Roadracing here in Colorado, run by the MRA ( http://www.mra-racing.org/ ). With the closure of Second Creek Raceway, Continental Divide Raceway, and PPIR last year, La Junta is one of our few remaining race tracks.

Big melons are big business in the tiny agricultural town of Rocky Ford.

I tried the I70>Limon and south way and didnt like it at all... although who i was traveling w/ had their car break down (and there is NOTHING) between limon and rocky ford except for fields and one town 10 mins north of rocky ford.... so that might have soured my experience... we had to load everything that was on his car and trailer onto my truck and trailer hahahah DOH.

I still swear by the I-25 to pueblo and east route.... I live in Highlands Ranch.

Well I know that coming back from the last race there last year I hauled a$$ and made it back to Thornton in a bit over 3.5 hours... Following all the limits its about 4hrs 15 mins or so for us.... If there is a way to shave some time of, that would be cool.... The trip to Pueblo is the easy part. Only about 2 hours for the northern folks to get there... Its that long stretch of nuttin (Hwy 50 East) that has you slow down every 10 miles to go through Chilren of the Corn USA and then have to speed back up and repeat repeat repeat.... Seems like that takes half my life.. haha
