I might be up to bring the Tard out after work. I promise to not buzz Sully (or others), and I can help with some guidance on the track. As long as I get to open it up once in awhile I'll be good

Update it again. I will be there. But Bueller has to teach me to get my knee down.

I really cant wait. I am excited. Will people have tape or whatever for tail lights/mirrors without having the tape left-over all over my bike?

    And i want some pics!!!

    Thanks!

    Aaron,

Glad you're going to make it.

Camera will be there for pics.

There are a couple points at IMI where you can get a knee down, but don't let that be your only goal. Don't get me wrong, it feels good to do, but it's not the best part of track riding for me.

Anyways, glad you're going to make it, looking forward to seeing you there!

Gettin' a knee down is easy, just go down on one or two knees and pray you don't highside when you are pushing too hard trying to drag body/bike parts.

My goal is to ride better with more confidence... Getting a knee down is the after effect that may come sometime in the next 10 years. But it starts with a day of confidence.

    But that was funny Bueller!

    Curtis,

It will be great to see you there. If you decide to snap pictures I'll have my digital SLR there for you to use.

I screwed up and got the date of my thesis defense wrong, it's actually tomorrow at 7 PM in Denver. I'm still coming to the track and I'll stay till a little after 6 PM when I'll have to change into respectable clothing once again and go to school. I'll leave my camera with curtis as I'm getting work done at Stans on Thursday. I can pick the camera up then.

    Work for you Curtis?

Re: NOOB track day Wednesday June 14 @ IMI

So am I the only actual noob going to this noob day?

I have never been on a track, have no idea how fast I'll be comfortable with (not very I'm guessing), doubtful I'll be holding lines (esp. at first), will be grateful not to wet myself at getting passed, am on a 250 - yes, a 250, been riding just over a year...

I WANT to go but that was because it was gonna be a newb thing. Just don't want to get down there and have everyone all "yeah, Bat, glad you could make it now get the f*ck outta the way so we can really ride". If that's the case...be honest and save me the $25 and possible heat stroke, ya know?
...you're one of them, aren't you? No, I'm something else...

It's a trick. Get an axe.

Don't worry Bat There will be plenty of people who will show you the ropes. You will be better off if there are vet riders out there so you can follow them.

RYBO--works for me if I am there....I can hold onto the camera and have it at Stan's for you.

Bat--dont' worry about it...come out. IMI was my first track expereince and loved it. We will all be able to help ya out and have some fun. Again IMI is not "speed" course.....i never leave 2nd gear, so don't worry about bikes flying around you doing triple digits or anything. It will be a good time.

Re: NOOB track day Wednesday June 14 @ IMI

    Bat,

Zanos has not been on a track before either. My whole goal is to get you and him riding on the track as it's something I love to do and want to share with others. I'll have to leave around 6 to defend my thesis (scewed up the date, damn!) but that is a solid couple of hours.

Your 250 is a PERFECT bike for the IMI track. No one expects you to drag a knee or be super fast on your first (or second or seventh) track day, it's really just about having some fun.

I am pretty sure that you will be holding a line after 5-6 laps, at least around some of the corners. My plan is to lead some of the new riders around for a few laps, then follow for a few laps and help you select the line that is best for you.

I think Sully has only been on the track a couple of times as well.

The group that's coming is a really fun bunch and I think you will enjoy yourself. All that and it's your Birthday! Tell you what, come on out.

Anyways, give me a call and check your PM.....

    Scott

Last Sunday there were scooters out there, and no one ran them off the track, you'll be just fine. Remember we have a no buzz policy.

I would like to go, I just don't have the pants. I have a leather riding jacket, but it doesn't have any protection or anything. Does anybody have any pants that I could borrow? They would need to be around 34x34. Thanks and if someone does have pants that I could borrow I'll see if I can make it.
