Why is there no talk of the AMA @ Miller?!

Let me begin by saying how dull AMA has been lately with Suzuki rider domination. The only dogfights have been back in the pack with the winners being victorious by a landslide. Well the Miller double-header had me cheering like a football fan to see Zemke and Bostrom pressing and really showed which riders have some natural ability to pick up a new track quickly. This sort of fresh racing was great to see the lead positions being pressing by what are normally just top-tenners.

BTW, I can't wait to go to Laguna and who else is going and trailering bikes because so far it is just myself, my sort-of girlfriend, and a close friend. I would like to have a small posse to cruise/attack the PCH!

Hat's-off to J.Z. A very hard fought weekend, and well deserved win.

Same goes to J. Hacking with his sweep of Supersport and Superstock. Can't go wrong with "production" Yamaha's on top of the box.

And how about Josh Herrin?!? I'm gonna go ahead an drop the Phenom card on him, right about.................. now.

Good races, indeed. Even though I'm a DiSalvo fan, I didn't even mind seeing Josh Hayes win either.

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

I enjoyed watching J. Hackings wife walk her dogs by the Dunlop tent everyday, also DiSalvo's girl and a few other hussies these racers are dating!!

Mad props to "Team Hunter" (Milf Hunter), they and a steady stream of half naked girls keeping us company though out the weekend!!

The races were cool to! :P

I was supremely bummed to see Zemke wreck on the Saturday race, but very glad he won on Sunday. Not that I'm anti-Suzuki, it was just cool to see another rider/brand change things up a bit.

It does, except for this one plot of land on which the best track in the country happens to sit.

Did anyone catch that Shane Turpin was 9th in Superbike. Pretty cool.

Um, Shane was 19th in Race 1 (Saturday) and 23rd in Race 2 (Sunday). Still, very respectable. And, best Yamaha finish in both!

I would have to agree that DiSalvo is very talented, although maybe it is just the amazing power to weight ratio when they pick him up to set him on the seat. :P The thing that iritates me is how his hat is always crooked in the interviews.

Yeah, I was told that the owner of Miller owns the Toyota/Scion dealer in Colorado Springs. Why didn't he make this track in Colorado!?!?!?

Larry Miller owns the CDR racetrack near Mead north of Longmont. He tried to get the permits to build his dream track there, but was unable to, so he chose UT instead.

I think Shane was riding his Suzuki in superbike and his Yamaha in supersport. I think he was 11th at PPIR last year in superbike, so I don't know why he that far back this year.

It said that he was riding the Yamaha, and that what it looked like when he got lapped. But if you were there then you are probably right.

No Gene, you're probably right. I just assumed that's what he'd be using. Does anyone know why he was on his R1? He seems to be a lot faster on the Suzuki.

Good question, I went like 1 second/lap faster in La Junta on the Suzuki, and he did not do all that great at the national on the Yamaha

Only reasons I can think of is mechanical problems with the Suzuki or it is not Superbike legal.

I think that an $80 million track that brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars to the city is more important and can be lived with. If its in the legal limit of noise then to hell with them. Its always going to be a battle. A track cant flourish 100 miles away from the closest house, but nor can it closer cause people always bitch. Never ending struggle.
