    Re: Update on Gene Bazyl

This is horrible news, I don't even know what to say. I only met Gene a few times, but he treated me like we'd known each other for years. He was one of the most kind-hearted people I've ever met. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and all the people who's lives he touched.

RIP Gene. You won't be forgotten. I'll have one last shot of Patron for ya buddy. I wish it could be with you instead.

    Re: Update on Gene Bazyl

Ive made armbands at my own expense for the players of What the Puck. In case anyone doesnt know thats the official/unofficial CSC hockey team. Its where I first met Gene. The armbands are about 2" in width and are black displaying 14 in white raised embroidered numbers. 14 was Genes player number on the team. In addition I think we will all be sporting the 502 on our helmets.
The last couple seasons Gene has been playing hockey on and off because of his race schedule and minor injuries related to racing/motorcycles. But now in a round about way its because of motorcycles that I will always bring him to every game I play for as long as I can stand in skates. My heart goes out to everyone who knew Gene and to everyone whose lives Gene was able to touch.

I'm not sure words can ever express the completely numb sensation I am having about reading this news.

Gene - I can only hope this means the pain you were feeling is at an end and you know that your spirit lives on in all of us who cared about you.

Although I don't believe I'd ever met him, I am numb and incredibly sad with the news. Condolences to family and friends.

Sad news. I met him twice. Once while moving Dysco and once at Brecks. He was a very nice person and seemed to be willing to help a brother out. Heavy hearts are hard to mend. R.I.P.

    Re: Update on Gene Bazyl

    This is very tragic news.

Gene obviously touched a lot of people on this board and although I never met him I checked this thread every day to see how he was coming along. I am saddened that I never got to meet him, for he was obviously a wonderful person and had impacted many different lives. My condolences go to his family and to the many many friends that he left behind.

    RIP Gene.

NO real words can express what we all are feeling......
I realized that this news would possibly come, but of course prayed it would not. I do realize that Gene will be in a better place and lived his life the way many of us wished we could.
Gene I will miss being on the hockey floor with you...giving me pointers and skating together. I only wished I would have made it on the track with you more to gain experience from you there.
You will be remembered each time I swing the leg over the bike and each time I lace up the roller blades......
    RIP my friend!

    Re: Update on Gene Bazyl

Words cannot express my sadness. I met Gene a bunch of times at the track and his enthusiasm for racing inspired me to give it a go this year. 4 years ago at Second Creek I had a very bad crash which resulted in me loosing my spleen, spending a couple days in the hospital, and generally being really scared of the Kamakazi corner there every time I rode it afterwards. Last year at the CSC trackday Gene showed me a new line through that corner that completely changed my perspective. Instead of being scary it became incredibly fun. I looked forward to it every lap becuase I could sail through there without the fear that existed before. I had always hoped that someday I would get to return the favor.

Gene, wherever you are please know that I'll miss you at the track and in this life. I hope we get to meet again someday.

Daaaammn. This is just horrible. I am at a loss for words too. Gene was as good a person as any I have known. I will miss you out on the track and will think of you often when riding or playing hockey bro. Although we only got to play one season together, I was hoping to be your teammate again on another.

I too am a better person for having known you. Rest in peace my friend.

    Sad, sad news.

I never met Gene, but I always was entertained by the posts and the stories that I read about him or by him on the board. I can see that he touched so many lives in his short time on earth. I believe that there is a plan for us all, and Gene's was a great one, too short, but great.

I send his family all my thoughts.

I just read the back threads on Gene. Im so sorry for the loss of a friend that meant so much to everyone in CSC and beyond. My prayers and thoughts go to his family at this time of grief. Gene will be missed. He impacted a great number of lives from what I have heard from so many people. He is in a painless and better place now. The LORD is beside him and his family at this time of need.
