Even in passing Gene is generous, that is what he truly embodied. I will miss Gene and am grateful of the time I did have to get to know him.
    I will miss him everyday.

Re: Update on Gene Bazyl - see page 10

I'd be hardpressed to tell those that didn't know Gene, stories of a more entertaining, funny, or helpful individual. He was all of those things. Just as those of you who maybe only met him once or twice, and saw how generous he was with his time, or knowledge, or personality; It wasn't coincidence. This is who he was, day-in and day-out, and he'd invite you into his home to come hang out, just as soon as he'd shake your hand to introduce himself. It was his way, and there was nothing suspicious about it. Damn, this is hard....

You know.... Death in-and-of itself doesn't sadden me, because I understand that none of this is a dress rehearsal. But nothing stings quite like knowing all those great memories that you have, are gonna have to be "it". There's not gonna be anymore crazy roadtrips to
Fontana, to fail miserably as his sorely unprepared 1-man pit crew. No more evening phonecalls from "Gene's cell", that I knew would immediately be greeted with: "Wanna go get into some trouble?"
(He knew I was good for some.)

I can't help but agonize, knowing that there won't be any more chances for him to enrich a moment in time. My life, your life, his family's, and even complete strangers lives. We've all forever lost our opportunity to make a new memory. And I tell you what.... it would have been a good one.

My heart hurts to hear this

I'm going to miss Gene's wry little smile

He was such a fun & great guy! He has to feel the amount of love directed his way by us all. Additionally, he will live on through the donor recipients, which will bring a beautiful new day to them

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

I wasn't going to post anything but I will because I was lucky enough to spend the last few days with Gene before he was ready to go. I'm not ready to be positive and see that "this happend for a reason" luckily I have Dave (hoopty) by my side trying to keep my head up for me. I just pray to God that Gene takes care of his parents. There can't be anything worse then losing a child. Anatoly (genes dad) is a sweet man and a great father, watch out for him Gene. I know I've already asked you to do this a few times LOL but keep Dave's head on straight, remind him that it's just a race and he has people who love him as much as we love you waiting for him at home. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers every single night. Thank you for making me laugh and cry and thank you for always being sincere.

This news hurts very much.. I didn't know you as well as I could have and I'm sorry I won't get that chance. I'm glad that the memories I do have were good times. I will miss you Gene.

Well said. Although I never met Gene either, I too was keeping an eye on this thread and hoping for better news.

May those you left behind be comforted by their memories of you.

    RIP, Gene.

I remember a track day with Gene, I think maybe one of those CSC things we put together at Second Creek... He went out with me for a while and coached me, I probably dropped 4 seconds off my laptime that day. He was the kind of guy who would spend his saturday helping a friend move (even if we did have to show him how to use 4 wheel drive to get his truck out of Dysco's driveway)... Goodbye Gene, you will be missed.
