    1 piece suits

Looking at getting a 1 piece suit to replace my two piece for the track and retire the two piece to street riding. I've narrowed down choices to an Alpinestar and a Teknic. Links are here...

    http://www.kneedraggers.com/index.ph...1-TEK04-01&s=1

Do any of you racers out there have experience, i.e. durability, quality, crash worthiness with either of these suits and/or kanagroo hide suits? Any feed back would be mucho appreciated. two piece is Spidi but i tried their sz 58 (which is their largest) and it doesn't quite fit my big arse.

    Thanks!

Kangaroo is supposed to hold up very well in crashes. I'd bet either of those 2 suits would serve you well. For that kind of money, though, I'm pretty sure you could get a custom suit made for you that might fit you better. Some custom manufacturers that I've heard good things about:

You may check out SYED Leathers

I have heard positive things about their suits, and their prices are VERY reasonable. I would have bought one of their custom suits if I hadn't found the deal on my JR... and someone to alter it.

I heard that about Kanagroo which was why I was looking at those. I ordered the fit pack from zcustom a while ago. Been trying to find the kit. Thought about that too. I believe the cost for the zleather was about 1400.00 total. The price on kneedraggers is high. I have found both on different sites in the low 1100 range. Thought I'd make some local calls to see if our sponsers might be able to get either and what their prices might be. Also watching eBay. Got my Spidi which retailed for 950.00 for 450.00 off eBay a couple years ago.

    Thanks guys for the info.

Yeah, that pricing on the Alpinestar is pretty dang high, retail is $1400 and the price they want is $1250, but their still making a few hundred off you.

The Joe Rockets have been great suits for the price. Give me a call and I can see if any of the closeouts are still available.

Bryce, where do you get Spyke from in the US. I'v done searchs and can't seem to find any dealers in the US. I did email Ron Curry about his Spyke Vortex leathers. Hoping to hear back from him also.

    Brian, I'll call you.
    Thanks

Thanks Bryce. Looking at Ron Curry's tomorrow. If they don't work out, I'm contacting Racer supply about a custom fit suit.

    Thanks

I have a set of second hand, Custom Z Leathers. They are just about the best set I have ever had the chance to try on.

They are Deer hide I believe, and the original owner was a racer down the southwest, and he said he had four unplanned get offs, one of them really bad, and they are still in awesome condition.

    Goodluck.

PS - 1 pieces make everything a little harder, barely any functionality except for in a crash.. but then again, that is what they are for!
