    Riding in this heat.

I picked up a cooling vest from these guys:

Kept me cool on my way home from work yesterday.
Just soak it in cold water for about 5 minutes and put it on and it will keep you cool. Its thin too to fold up and put in your tank bag.

Heat? Where is Colorado does it get hot? Lol!

Try riding here in Phoenix during the dead of summer (110 degrees on my patio as I type this). Even at night it does not get below 95 right now ...

So, how long does it last? What I mean is, how long does it stay damp enough to be effective?

You begin your riding career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

I believe that you can get a little over an hour, I have only worn it on my commute to work which is close to an hour and it lasted the whole way.

It may also depend on how much you soak it and how hot it is outside. I will use it this week and report on how much I soak it and how long I can get it to last.

An hour's not bad. If you're lucky you can find a gas station with a hose spigot right about the time it starts drying off.

I have used one for about five years now and if I soak it over night I can ride all day with it under my jacket and its still wet. The more you open the vents the cooler you get. Take the jacket off and it'll dry out very quick and it doesn't cool much at all.

Saved my ass riding out to Lake McConahey last year, I fooloshly left it there and just about died on the way home. Had to keep filling bottles and splashing myself while riding.

    Re: Riding in this heat.

I just got back from a ride today. I have a "Cool 'R Vest" and "Helmet Cool R". I rode from my place in Highlands Ranch up to Evergreen via Morrison and Bear Creek Rd. The Cool R Vest lasted about 4 hours beneath my mesh Joe Rocket jacket. They are really easy to work with, just dip them in water for a minute to let them soak. Wring out and wear.

They are very easy to recharge. All you need to do is keep a one gallon Zip Lock bag handy. Then just put the vest and helmet insert in the baggie and add some water from your water bottle. Let it soak and then put it all back on.

It was in the 90's today and it felt like I was riding in 65 degree weather.

    I bought mine through http://www.osi-sports.com
