Roll call for PMP this Friday!

So who's going to Pueblo on Friday? After much thought and arguing with myself I've decided to brave the heat and go for a half day (morning). My coworker is going and it's his first time on the track so I'll be doing some laps getting him up to speed, but wouldn't mind riding with some of you other clowns. Who's in?

I plan on going and I will have room for an extra bike in my trailer if anyone needs a ride.

Hey Jason. Yeah, i'm planning on getting there close to when it opens and only running 1/2 day. But I will definitely be there long enough for us to get together for a while and run some laps. Look for my truck & tent and feel free to share the shade!

PMP noob questions. What gear is required? What is the format of the laps, by yourself, other riders etc? Are track beginners welcome?

    Thanks

You need full gear, has to be leather a two piece suit is ok as long as the zipper goes all the way around
    laps are sessions
20 min. for white plate race bikes
20min. for yellow plate race bikes
    20 min. for street bikes
you will be on track with others
You need your bike in tip top with new or newer tires
mirrors need to come off and your lights need to be taped, it my understanding that most would like you to pull the fuse or unplug your brake light as well
I saw someone up on here offering use of trailer and leathers
If you can you should come

Re: Roll call for PMP this Friday!

I have a question about the track as well. We will be moving here around September 15th, so I am not sure that I will be able to attend a track event until sometime next spring due to getting settled and all.
I was wondering, however, if I would be allowed to start in the "street" group for a session or two, and then move up to the "yellow plate" bike group (My bike is a yellow-plated track only bike) since I have never been to the track before? That way I could get acclimated and learn which way the track goes before being let loose with the track regulars.
I was also wondering about the MRA ... do they only race at PMP, or do they hit other tracks as well?

The MRA races at PMP, La Junta Raceway about an hour east of Pueblo, Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT and Motorsports Park Hastings in Hastings, NE. You can get more info at the MRA's website http://www.mra-racing.org/

In order to run in the yellow plate group you must have an active novice race license or have passed the MRA Race School. There's a school on August 11th, though that's a little early for you. There will be 2 or 3 more schools next spring.

Cool! That's exactly what I needed to know ... Thanks!
Can I find the MRA school schedule on their website?

Don't you need to make sure there's no anti-freeze in the cooling system as well? Only water or water/wetter.....
