    Bueller's bike, my riding...

OK, so this post is a desperate attempt to draw attention to myself. It turns out that my ego is in need of stroking, as my stature is somewhat small. This post is for you, the reader, to stroke it... ummmm, never mind that now!

While there were rides in the canyons this weekend (see the Canyon Carving forum for the specifics) I went to IMI and talked Bueller into lending me his SM bike. This is the result...

Ooops, is this too much brake? Or is it just me saying "Pay attention to me"

It isn't that hard actually. I took the American Supercamp recently and kept crashing until Danny told me to stop leaning in like on a road racer. Once you get used to that "stay on top" feeling, it is pretty easy. Plus, you go around a track like IMI much faster than on a sport bike with a lot less work. I have a CRF I am working on motarding, and that thing only weighs like 230 pounds which makes it pretty easy to throw around. Now the jumps and the dirt section are a little bit different. Most of the off road stuff I did road racing involved a lot of swearing and praying under the old helmet (you know, "Oh SH1T!!! Oh God, please don't let me crash, please, please, please, please, please... thanks).

I am having the most fun I have had on a motorcycle in a long, long time.

No, not wrong. Just different. We are all OK, just some of us are more OK than others.

Oh, and the picture needs to be bigger. That is the way that you massage your ego. No one can tell if that is you on the bike or simply the Predator with a haircut and a helmet.

I would say we should have a little race to find out which way is faster, but you (Bueller) and I both know how that would turn out. I don't know if the looser (AKA Woolite) could take the rejection and defeat.

Of course a race would require two bikes, technically.

I guess we could just time the laps, and you could continue your mistreatment of my DRZ.

Isn't that a picture of the retro virus ebolie or something under filo's name? We were just talking about that in organic chem the other day
If you don't like me I'll shave your cat, steal your extension cords, not limited to your multiple supply outlet adapters and raid your fridge. Please don't let this inhibit you from contacting me, just be mortified;-p

Yep. It is an SEM of the filovirus Ebola. Hence the name Filo. It looks like a filament so they named the class of virus with the latin name for thread. Ebola has four sub viruses named for the areas in which they were first discovered, E. Sudan, E. Zaire, E. Cote D'Ivorie, and E. Reston (for Reston, Virginia!). Filoviruses are helical, non segmented, single stranded RNA of varying lengths. There are two members of the Filovirus family - Ebola and another hemorraghic fever called Marburg. The mortality rate is from 30-88% depending on strain. In advanced Ebola hemorrhagic fever (which is where most people go if they develop symtoms) the body bleeds out of every opening, liver and kidneys fail, and most of your internal coatings (tounge, intestine, etc) slough off. I think I would rather die than live with the symptoms. Transmission appears to be through contact with infected body fluids, although the Reston strain seems to be transmitted through the air. Luckily, the Reston strain did not cause anyone to develop EHV. There is no vaccine for humans (there are a few animal ones being worked on), no known natural reservoir, no treatment for those who develop EHV, and very little known about the virus. So, don't eat any dead monkeys that you didn't shoot yourself.

I'll let you ride mine *if* I ever finish putting it together. I should have it done in the next month - it is not a real high priority in my life right now.
