pit bull
they will make you more popular
I am looking for stands too and was wondering which brand would be worth the money. I was also wondering if the one that inserts into the steering head is better than the regular front stand? Sorry if I seem to taking over, but why start a new thread on the same subject?Originally Posted by N1KSS1KS1x
Pitbull is like Rolex. They make a nice product, but you pay extra for the name. Vortex makes a great neck stand. You don't want one that picks up from the bottom of the fork legs.

The stem stands are way more stable and you can remove the fork legs.
The under the fork leg stand will work just to change a tire but I don't feel ok with leaving the bike on the stand any longer then that.
I havent used the stem style yet but it also looks like you have more room around the tire
I have pitbull front and rears for my bikes...they are very stable and I never worry about the bikes coming off them.
Also, as N1KSS1KS1x said, you will want the triple tree stand so that you can remove fork legs and want not (not fork leg stand).

Pit-Bull all the way. With Pit-Bull front stands, you can get the under-the-fork tubes type, along with the stem adapter (uses the same base stand for both).
The rear stand has adapters that will work with every bike other than a single-sided arm (they have a separate stand for that style), so you will never need to buy another rear stand again unless you happen to get a single-sided swingarm bike.
Pit-Bull stands are very stable, so you will never have to worry about your bike falling off ... regardless of whether you use a stem adapter or just the under the fork tube type of stand. Like some of the others mentioned ... if you ever decide to remove your front forks for any reason, you will need the stem adapter. Check them out at: www.pit-bull.com

Pit-Bull here too.

Agree with the pit bull. I've owned a bunch of different brands over the years and the pit bull ones are the best.
That and you will be more popular if you have them- almost everyone here thinks so.
I've got the LP front and rear stands. Even though everyone thinks they're crap, I've never had a problem. They're lighter than the Pit Bulls and no handle to trip over. Although, the handle on the Pit Bull makes it a little easier to lift the bike.

I got a front and rear stand set from Checkered Flag Motorsports. They are $125 shipped for the set. I am very happy with mine. My bike is somewhat of a pig (~500lbs fueled) and it is very secure on the stands.

You know how those engineers like to "over-engineer" everything in our line of work Dean.Originally Posted by Kim-n-Dean

"Over-engineer" my ass!!! Rather than over-engineer or even do their job, they always try to get me to change my design so they don't have to actually figure anything out.Originally Posted by konichd

Now if only LP made a rear stand for you that made mounting easier?Originally Posted by Sully

Thank God the engineer's work for the ARCHITECT and not the other way around. Engineers are nothing more than handling a grown-up nursery, kicking, screaming, hand-holding.....Aw did engineer fall down get bo-bo?Originally Posted by Kim-n-Dean
BTW - I like the Pitbull stands myself with the front being a triple tree mount allowing for the substitution of other pins for different makes.
