Ok, our dates our set.... The group attempting the 50CC will be stopping in Vegas for the night en-route to San Diego. As per usual, we'll be taking a very scenic route through Utah which includes fantastic views, boarders several Nat'l Parks, hours and hours of twisties/sweepers and Zion!. Bring your camera!!

Vegas is approx. 750 miles from Denver. The scenic route adds another 75 miles or so, thus you can expect to be in the saddle for up to 14 hours. Obviously some of you may not have ridden that distance, nor would you have to go all the way. A very nice stopping point would be Torrey Utah. It's elevated, forrested and approx 1/2 way. As a last resort, we'd still like to have riders cross into Utah with us and then make alternative plans. Our 1st year doing this I think we had 8 riders make it to Moab, and it was a lot of fun. We already have 1 confirmed rider who is just doing Vegas, so you're guaranteed to have a traveling companion going home.

We will be departing Memorial Day weekend on Saturday 5/24/03 @ 1:00 AM , sharp @ Morrison & C-470,(Conoco station-our new mtg spot for the club) This start time was designed to get us into Vegas so the 50CC crew could relax in the pool etc. and still enjoy some of Vegas-as we'll only be in the city for approx. 20 hours. You on the other hand can stay as long as you wish! This time will also allow for us to escape the intense heat or @ least minimize the amount of time we'll be in it. I can tell you last year on the return trip home,(it was 4 weeks later than this trip) it was so hot the soles of my boots felt like they were on fire! Ideally you'll have the ability to drink fluids while riding which will help tremendously.

For those of you not familiar, Vegas does and will sell out during this holiday weekend. In fact, while looking for a room earlier today it was difficult,(because 50CC-ers only need 1 night) to find one as most casinos are requiring a 2 night minimum stay. So if you're the least bit intersted in going,(the ride itself is worth it) I'd consider booking a room sooner than later!!

Lastly, If you're relatively new to riding this would be a good trip to go on. You'll have the ability to open her up all you want,( for the more experienced riders), but I'll be on a "bagger" and traveling @ a slower pace and nobody will be left behind.
The return trip home can easily cut 2 hours off your drive time assuming you take I-15 to I-70.

Hope you can make it!!
