i used to live in GA, and visited the Gap 2-3 times a year for a long time, and believe me, there is shit like this and much more that happen on this road..
the Gap (or the "Dragon" as we call it) is 213 curves in 11 miles of road, some very sharp...its a blast, but when you get tons of traffic through there, its gets dangerous quick!!
harleys cause alot of problems bc even if the rider can handle it, the bike cant..so you have situations like this where the guy drifts into the other lane...and there are semi's that come through there as well...nasty...
funny story...
the cops once tried to regulate this area, so they get a brand new (and i mean like 200 miles on it) Caprice and decide to chase a sportbike through the gap..haha...this idiot flips it into the forest, and down a 30 foot embankment...he was fine, but the police dept was PISSED that he totaled a band new car...so you dont see much of that anymore...there are pics and the story posted on the walls of the TWO store at the 'tail of the dragon'..man its hilarious....
any experienced sportbike rider NEEDS to hit the gap at some point, but dont go on a weekend, and dont dare go on a holiday...just too much traffic...

There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and UNIX. We don't believe this to be a coincidence.

318 there buddy. We did the Gap in June....I recognize those curves they are a few curves before the lookout point. We rode from the store to the lookout, wasn't worth doing the last little bit. As for the cruisers....they didn't bother me at all. They were all very friendly and let us by each time we came up on them. It was entertaining watching them go aroudn corners and seeing that chrome exhaust scrape Plan on going back next year....sure there will be a post again. Maybe this year more of you fellas will join us and ride some FUN stuff!213 curves in 11 miles of road
