I was thinking around 11. We're in for sure. Grandma is taking the kids.(yeah) We will for sure be in Nederland before 11. Can't wait. Our first time over to Deckers.

What's the pace going to be? My wife does pretty good in the canyons, but she's still a fairly new rider though.(not a noob, LOL)
Anyone heading from the Aurora area up to the early morning meeting location in Lyons? Would be nice to meet up with someone for the ride up. Seeing as I've only ridden up that way once before I'm not to sure what the ideal time to leave would be. Just drop me a PM or email.
Oh, this will be my first meeting of all "you people" since I just joined. =)
My thought(s)?
We don't know how many people are gonna show. When I took the Northie's up through Lyons last weekend to meet up for the n00b ride, I took a corner along P2P and looked back at the other side of the mountain and watched as all 23 of us were rounding the bend. It was freakin amazing, but kinda not so good as far as traffic is concerned. Sooo...we'll have to play it by ear, but first thought...break up the huge group and wait at turn-offs. We'll have to talk more in Lyons on Sunday.

I think we should try and break up the group some, but that only works to a point. Basically the pace is however fast you feel comfortable going at your personal level of skill (note the difference between that and "the fastest speed you can maintain at all times"). I personally don't care who's in front or how fast they're going, I will get there when I get there. The only thing I have to prove on a bike is that I can get back home alive.
As long as she can ride safe both for herself and everyone else, she should be fine.

holy crap this is gonna be a huge ride this year.
the looks we got from people that were at the cafe just to eat were beyond defining.
this year i don't think there will be any parking left.
if it gets much bigger,we may need to find a larger starting point.
i agree with the large group ethics.
we will need to determine who will lead certain groups and who will run sweep.
also....if there are any that are a bit more spirited in the morning.
please volunteer to be "rumrunners"
you will leave before the major first group(by about 5-10minutes)
your purpose will be to make it to the next stop while looking for any pertinent road hazzards that may falter the group.
any takers???
also.
it was a close call for me today.
i had to take the day off work over a muscle spasm in my lower back.
thank the doc for needling me and sending me home with scripts.
i could barely get out of bed this morning, but no more than 2 hours since the shot and i am moving a bit more freely.
i was forbodding having to explain anything that would leave me with the inability to join this ride.
so in finality.
let's rock

Hey Mayo & Cathy,
Looks like I'm out of the run (for the 2nd weekend in a row). Apparently Jim (TFOG) doesn't carry all essential parts for an 2001 R6 (by essential, I of course mean the ones that only I need). He has great service, and great prices, but come on, what kind of shop doesn't carry every part for a 01 R6? Geesh, people these days! Parts won't be in till Tuesday So unless I figure out a good way to steal a bike, not get caught and then return it; I'll have to wait for the 4th annual. Have a blast.

She's a safe rider. She keeps a steady pace in the canyon. I'm looking forward to it. Not sure we're going to lyons or catching y'all in Ned....(TBD!!)

Pffft!! Who needs menthol when you have "fireball" (only kidding). Yep, that will put our old bones right back into shape.
I'm very much looking forward to this ride. Sounds like some really great people are coming. Couldn't ask for more!

I wish I had the nerve to ride on this ride. Holidays are really tough for me to ride. The dangers, even small, outweigh my urge to hit the hills. I would rather ride in the snow. You peeps have fun and be safe out there. And take some sweet pics!!!
