In lieu of heated grips I also tend to ride one handed a lot with the other hand shoved in the fairing warming up off of the headers

"...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Get one with a thin fabric on the top- basically fluffy around the neck and face but thin and stretchy from the ears up. It won't change your helmet fit as much as a full fleece model and ends up being far more comfortable.
Better yet, just get a neck gaiter or fleece face mask with enough fabric to stuff into your collar.
Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.
Go to the Army/Navy Surplus store on Broadway and Hapmden. I got mine there for $10 and it is the one with thin, stretchy material on top and thick fleece on the bottom. It is long enough to tuck way into my jacket. Nice stuff. They have GREAT combat boots too that are warm, cheap, and very grippy on slippery surfaces.

The balaclava is great 'cause it'll keep your face a little warmer than just an air dam will. Also it keeps your head warm in a helmet that's really more deisgned for venting & cooling. They're right tho, get one that's thinner on top so that it won't adjust your helmet's fit. It'll be tight anyway, just don't give yourself a headache!
