So.... I bought an Alpinestar jacket off craigslist, but new with tags. It's the MX-1 jacket but damn, it appears that the zipper to attach pants (future) doesn't go all the way around? Am I just measuring wrong or is this how they are?
Anyone else have this same jacket?
those are GREAT jackets. check out Fay Myers to see about the zipper thing. They have 8 of them in stock right now. You can call parts and ask them to look

Good idea, thanks, called them and they said it wraps 3/4 way around...just to the sides or so on the waist.
The connecting zipper does not go all the way around.

That's inconceivable....that the zipper doesn't go all the way around.
The pants zipper doesn't go all the way around....there's an 8 or 9 inch gap between the two ends in the front.
edit- the reason is that any size Alpinestars jacket can zip to any size Alpinestars pants. Unlike two-piece suits, a weight-lifter size guy, or a pear-shaped size guy can get the proper fit and zip the two together. If the zippers went completely around it wouldn't work.
