    Notice to Employees

    Notice to Employees:

As the CEO of this business that employs 140 people, I have resigned myself
to the fact that Barack Obama is our next President, and that our taxes and
government fees will increase in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that the Clients will have to see
an increase in our fees to them of about 8%, but since we cannot increase our
fees right now due to the dismal state of our economy, we will have to lay
off six of our employees instead. This has really been eating at me for a
while, as we believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who
    will have to go.

So, this is what I did: I strolled thru our parking lot and found 8 'Obama'
bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be
the first to be laid off. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this
problem. These folks wanted change; I gave it to them.

If you have a better idea, let me know.

That's not even funny...especially when a lot of the people on this board are laid off right now.

Got that as an email and as a person who HAS been laid off for a YEAR now...I thought it was pretty funny and thought I would share some grim humor because face it, every once in awhile when everything is heading to hell in a handbasket...ya just gots ta stop, look around, and laugh. Or die of a stress related heart attack, ahh, your choice!

That's a relatively fair approach to deciding who to let go. At my last job, my director laid people off because they didn't say hi to him in the morning.

I have to say that is funny in a sad but true sort of way.

Before I left my work for the last time I acquired someones Obama foam finger that he flew proudly from his bike. He has been busting my balls for 2 years and I got him back a little.

    Re: Notice to Employees

I recieved this email too a few weeks back and just to chime in as a "laid off person", my industry (mortgages) was arguably the first hit by the economy and as a result I was laid off three times in the span of slightly less then a year.

At the moment I've been laid off for just over two weeks but I'm starting at a new bank (TCF) next week so hopefully 4th time is a charm, right?

I thought the joke was pretty darn funny as well, if only it were true.

I thought it was funny too. Ya gotta whistle through the graveyard.

Though I'd change it to Bush/Cheney stickers.... and fire the morons.
(But that would mean the CEO would have to fire himself.)
