Guys really can move that 120mm mortar around and put some rounds down range.

Hoorah Get some mortars! 0341 rules!
Whatdja learn?
Pretty cool, so do the mortars work by having a pin at the bottom and the weight of the round setting it off? and what were the two types of rounds they were using?
+1^
Also, why did some rounds have a circular device (looked like a doughnut of foam) around the stabilizing fins at the bottom? Is that residual packing materials?
No they were "cheese charges"...at least that was what the mortar guys in my outfit told me they were commonly called. At 2:34 you hear one of the guys say "Shoot next two 'charge one'...", in other words add one cheese charge to the round. More charges, more range. Up to 4 typically.
Looked it up on globalsecurity.org and a 120mm HE round firing 'charge zero' has a range of 200-1000m. Charge 'one' is 500-2500m.
Pretty intense, thanks for posting, that's really cool.
