Just take it easy, there's no pressure to be fast. You'll be fine.

Ok. This sounds awesome and fun. I'm new to the forms and just moved here but I just YouTubed IMI and that looks like a lot of fun. Especially for $35 bucks. Im a definaite noob though. Am I just going to get in everyones way and piss people off? Do I need to cover the lights and all that jazz?
Hold on to your butts.

^You won't get in other people's way and piss people off. As long as you ride within your limits, you'll be fine.
And you don't need to cover the lights and stuff.

Just come on down, I have been to IMI a few times only to spectate, and I have always mingled with the more knowledgable riders and they are always willing to give advice and tips on what to do. Like LambeauXLIV said, its just a matter of riding within your limits. The more advance riders know when to pass you or not....
For My Diavan
My first time to the track, I got there as soon as they opened (10am weekdays, 9am weekends) and I had plenty of time to get comfortable on the track before the others showed. It helps to get to know some of the other riders out there and although they'll probably be passing you, most are able and willing to give you advice out there. First time at the track, I just had heavy jeans. Then I bought a real suit, and I was sliding my knee within 30 minutes of my 2nd trip out there. Now I was to work on going fast!
I love going to IMI. I'm also looking forward to going to other, higher-speed tracks in Colorado with the skills I've developed at IMI. The first part of this video is early in the day when I had the track to myself.

Thanks, but it's been a long time. I'll be on the Duc Friday so I'm pretty sure I'll be getting passed plenty.

Right on! I'm glad Jackson is doing well and it sounds like you're having a lot of fun being dad!
I'm having a harder time making it out to the track on weekends since I hardly see my daughter on the week days. Spending time with my daughter is so much fun!
Anyways, welcome back Travis, we missed ya!

I might come out to take some pictures. Depends on how lazy I'm feeling.
