the guys in the video make it look really easy. I found a spot that I think will work for practice, but only on the weekends. I messed around for 15-20 minutes using all the tips you guys mentioned and from the how-to wheelie videos. Honestly, I doubt I got my front wheel up more than a few inches most of the time.
I think I must not be holding in the clutch long enough. I'm cruising at 15-25 mph steady, then pull in the clutch with my index finder while at the same time opening the throttle. Then a split second later, I let go of the clutch and the bike lurches forward. Maybe I'm not holding the clutch in for long enough? I think my revs are probably getting up to 7-8k during that split second. Probably just takes more seat time. The guys in the videos sure make it look smooth and it feel pretty violent to me.
Next time, Vellos and a friend of mine and I will head out and take some vids and you guys and laugh and point fingers and then hopefully give some constructive feedback.

Video or even pictures help... wheelies are going to be soo addicting you guys are just getting into the really really fun times of learning... its a great time and hours and hours on fun just wait....
I really just want to impress people with my mad skillz...
people aren't nearly as impressed with knee dragging at 100+ as they are with a wheelie...
Stoppies > whoolies
Don't forget the "Bertha"
And this is how I roll, this way when I loop it I just pick it up and keep going
Bike: Rev up to 10k next time. You can and will need to rev really high. You will eventually start used to bring the bike up more controlled than bat of hell violence.
Body position: Move you butt all the way back of your seat. Be light on the clip-ons and hold the bike with your thighs. As you are about to release the clutch and execute your wheelie, lean back with it. Think of it as, as the bike goes up and back, you go with it.
Get used to going up a foot or two. Rip on the throttle and ride those out. Work on using your rear brake to bring you down and another blip on the throttle to come down more gently otherwise you will rack yourself at least 1 out of 5 wheelies. Once you got your safetly practices, start bringing her up higher.
A good indictation that I used for height and BP was having your forks level with the street (or guage cluster level with your face). If you haven't leveled out your forks, you have plenty of height to go. You will have room to work with when you forks go past being level so don't be too nervous with that as your measurement. I knew I had found a good balance when I felt my butt sitting between my bitch seat and rider seat.
Hope that helps, that's how I would describe my experience of learning the "force."
