I would like to save my old VHS tapes to DVD before they degrade any further. Unlike DVD's where you can beat the copy protection with software, VHS protection is non-removable, correct?
Any suggestions?

I have a buddy at work who's trying to do the exact same thing. I think he might just be looking to do it with home movies though. Lemme know if you find a good way to do it Dean

They make vhs->dvd all in ones. Otherwise you need a tv/tuner type of card with A/v in (Happauge). Would need to record each and then burn to DVD.

Most will do this, you either need a inline filter or a modded VCR (also I think a few VCRs came out that dont have the Macrovision or just ignore it)
