So HIBS mentioned to that you can use car oil filters for your bike, but I'm having a hard time finding what car or part number I need, so let's see if any of you know

Probably would not do that. Filters are designed specific for pressures, volume, oil type, etc.
If you are referring to the FRAM, or Supertech filters, than yes they make motorcycle specific ones for your year.
Walmart carries Supertech filters. Part # for your bike is ST6607
Fram part number is PH6017A

You could also look for and find the following
Mobil M1-108, about $12.
Purolator Pure One PL14612
Bosch 3300, about $6
NAPA Gold 1358
AMSOil SMF103
AC Delco PF2135
K&N KN-204, about $13. Metric nut on end for easy removal.
Why not just use the correct factory filter?

I think you heard wrong... They were talking about the car TIRES... "You can use car tires for your bike" is what they said.
Has anyone used the reusable bike oil filters? I was just reading about them in Motor Cyclist magazine.

I know many people who use a Mazda filter on the VFR with great success.
The model specific filter is pricey compared to a Mazda equivalent but for the two or three oil changes I do a month, hardly worth the effort to me.

When I had my Acura RSX, ZX-6R, and R6 trackbike all at once, life was great. I used the same oil and filter in all three, either the Purolator PL14610 or the Walmart Supertech ST7317 with Rotella T6 Synth 5w40.
You'll find that most Japanese sportbikes (except for Suzuki, fugg them) and even Japanese cars use the same thread pitch for the filter.
3 main companies contract manufacture about 10 different brands of oil filters. For example, Mobil 1 filters are made by Champion, and cost about $15 a pop, while Supertech filters at Walmart cost $3 and are made in the same factory. People that have cut both open on the internet have discovered that they look the same inside.
Guess what I use?

That's what they say, but whenever I went to a WERA race, half the guys had Walmart or Purolator PureONE car filters and Rotella car oil under their EZ up. Never seen anyone blow a motor up from these filters, and nor have I in 4 bikes and maybe 50,000 miles/40+ trackdays.
Definitely just do manufacturer recommended for peace of mind and warranty purposes, but I am just sharing my experiences for the little that it is worth.
The ones you quote are the shorter ones, which are the same size as stock, however I've always run the longer versions of which part number I have listed above. Calsci's awesome cross reference website is comprehensive as well.

Adio asked my recommendation of what oil/filter to use. I told him I use a Purolator PL14610 and rotella 5w-40 fully synthetic. been using it for 10 years in my bikes, never once had an engine failure, and I ride my stuff pretty hard. Looks like FiveNineZero knows the skinny. Guess the first 5 posters are OK with shelling out three times as much money on oil and filters. If that makes ya sleep well at night, good for you.
Lol I buy the fram or supertech for 6 bucks and run shell rotella. If you are getting your super awesome purolaters for 2 dollars, let me know where smart ass.

Lot of good info in here guys. Not to long ago I was looking at other options for the suzuki oil filter. I came across this website with a ton of good info that supports what has been said here as well some of the science of oil filter. Check it out http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/FilterXRef.html

Here is your fancy purolator for a whopping 60 cents OVER my supertech and, just a few dollars below the high line K&N.
Eat your foot and go ride your lowered bike hard. Brah.
Every forum, car or bike I have been on, has a thread like this. And it never fails to turn into a flame war.

quality oil/filters are cheap insurance...
I grenaded one motor with diesel oil in it, and noticed the bikes shift alot better with the better oil. Also run Wix (Napa), K&N or factory filters...had too many bad experiences with Fram shit when I used to toy with cars
