Hey SoCO,
I'll be hosting a CSC ride for Saturday - July 16th, 2011.
This ride: Colorado Springs to Evergreen.
The route
http://mapq.st/ohcHwX
This is a 200 mile round trip variation of the classic Colorado Springs to Evergreen route. It features great Colorado twisty roads and scenery.
Expect to be out with us from 8 AM to 3 PM.
Times
Morning meet location: Hwy 24 & 8th Street Acorn gas station.
8:30 AM.
Introductions, map hand out, route and stopping points covered, pep talk.
Gas up as the next fuel stop is 100 miles from here.
Leave promptly at 9:00 AM.
Contact Info - Clovis: 719-201-9383
PLEASE NOTE:If you would like to help in the ride, please let me know. Generally speaking each ride needs a leader in the front and a sweeper in the rear.
I've planned the details but I'm fine in any position. CSC club rides are about having a good time, not egos. If you're of the faster crowd and comfortable leading, please send me a PM.
Typically 6-10 riders will come and we'll naturally split into groups of fast and intermediate.
Also, if you happen to have a Scala Rider set up, this is a HUGE plus in general, regardless of riding position.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
We'll make a pit stop at the Deckers general store (aka "Deckers"). for about 20 minutes to rest, drink, take some pictures. Bring CASH, they didn't accept debt/credit cards last time I was there.
Continue on Hwy 67 to 285 -- take 285 to Turkey Creek Road. This is a twisty road to Evergreen.
Stop for lunch at Beau Jo's pizza in Evergreen. More pictures.
The route home is the reverse of the way we came. We should have you back home by 3:00 PM
Ride rules and requirements
I don't like to be a ride Nazi but this comes from experience. The safety and enjoyment of the group is my priority.
1) You and your bike must be LEGAL.
This means that your tags are current, you carry proof of insurance and you possess a VALID driver's license.
We don't want one of these:

2) Gear:
Full leathers is always encouraged but not required. You do need to have the basics though (Helmet, Jacket, Gloves, boots). How much you like your body is up to you.
However, if you show up in a tank top and shorts I will assume you are a squid and are suicidal. I'll ask you to catch us on the next ride with the proper equipment.
3) Rules:
Ride safely and courteously.
We'll be using the ever famous "Pace". If you're not familiar with "The Pace", it means riding at a spirited but consistent speed throughout the route. Here is a link:

Remember - when you are riding, you are the public face of the CSC and sport bikes in general. If you ride like an ass hat, then our rides aren't for you.
I'll cover this more in the morning pep talk.
If you're planning on attending, please reply in this thread. Also, I can be reached on my cell at 719-201-9383 if you're running late the morning of the ride (or get lost somewhere along the way).
Estimated cost
$25-30 for a full fuel tank and lunch.
Questions??
Please reply to this thread.
See you Saturday July 16th!
