Nooch is (planning) on riding to Colorado Springs on Sunday. From there it's Canon City and Salida. As long as it's dry I'll join him.

Re: Sweater knitting - Sunday, October 9th, 2011

I hope you don't mind me jacking this.

I've checked the weather everywhere and the only clear spot is the Salida loop.

    http://mapq.st/pW6iTd

From Morrison to Morrison this is 300 miles.

Overall the route is easy and non-technical with some very scenic photo ops. The canyons between Canyon City and Salida are wide and sweeping. After Salida the road becomes straight until Kenosha Pass (Hwy 285, just past Jefferson). Kenosha pass is also a non-technical (easy) pass. It is 10,000 ft. There will probably be snow on the shoulders but the road itself is expected to be dry.

    Temps

High 50s to low 60s for Morrison, Denver, Colorado Springs, Canyon City.

Temps will drop as we increase in elevation around Salida (High of 52) bottoming out in Fairplay (High of 40). Fairplay is at 10,000 ft.

We'll be stopping for lunch at the Brown Buro in Fairplay.

    Dress in layers!!

I like to keep my groups small and we have 4 bikes so far but I can take on a few more. If you would like to come, please PM me and I will fill you in on the meeting spot and times. Our pace is intermediate fast but I know Nooch is going 2 up so he'll probably ride sweep on this one.

My only group ride requirement is that you ride safely in a group and ride within your limits. Riding slower is totally okay, we always pull over at the turns to let any stragglers catch up. The main thing is having fun without any crashes and ideally no performance awards. Full gear is strongly encouraged.

    Have a fun weekend!

Yeah, that was like 1,500 miles ago. We keep having good weather weekends (present weekend excluded).

I rode. Then I accidentally learned how to drift on my way out of the subdivision. Then I went back and took my truck instead.

You must have really frozen your brain along with the hands.

If you have any nads you would come to the track tomorrow and show us how to ride testicles to the wind at 190 mph

I also rode today, layers are all you need

Oh yeah, lol, my bike was colder than I was. It kept trying to die on me when it was idle. It didn't get the memo to wear layers.

My bike can't go that fast... I don't think I honestly don't think I am ever going to ride on the track.

The thought of me going that fast makes my wife uneasy, and i could tell her i will go slow but I know as soon as I hit the track I will test my limit just to see what I can do. In the best interest of my wife and my child i won't go on the track.
