Who has a 3D tv that they use? Is it worth it? I have only tried the models set up at stores and it seemed really cool. Found a good deal on one but contemplating to buy one since I do not know anyone that has one!

Tylar & Jenette have one. We were playing GT5 on it on Thanksgiving, I liked it.

I've had a 3D TV for about a year now. I have yet to even bother buying glasses.
Yeah, so it was cool for games? I see Modern Warfare 3 is in 3D and I would use it for games in 3d. Did you try any movies?
With these black friday sales and promo coupons found a 46 in Samsung LED Smart 3D tv with two 3d movies and two sets of glasases shipped for $1600. TV got great reviews and haven't really seen a 3D tv for a better price....uggh decisions on stuff I don't really need...

wonder if my dog would get along with the 3D glasses.
the corgi doesn't like TV but the Shepherd watches a fair bit

If I got one, I'd get the ones w/ the glasses that don't need batteries. We didn't try any movies, he'll have to chime in on how those look.

I picked up an LG 47" LED 3D TV the week before Black Friday for $799. It came with 4 pairs of the passive glasses. I haven't watched an actual 3D movie on it yet, but watched a football game and The Matrix in simulated 3D, and it was definitely noticeable and impressive! I'm very happy with my purchase so far, even though I don't foresee myself watching many 3D movies without my daughter.
FYI, if you plan on playing games online with friends, the lag created by the 3D processing (converting 2D to 3D) may be detrimental to winning. If the game is already in 3D, then it might not be an issue. I'm not a gamer, so I'd research that & find out for sure if that's one of the reasons you'd be buying it.

Doug only bought the 3D TV so he can say he has one.

We bought the Samsung LED borderless, as Goosey mentioned. Personally, I'm amped to watch Winter X on it in 3D. Programming pretty much sucks, ESPN has some college games and other things in 3D and there's a Discovery'ish channel (Comcast).
GT5 was insane. Animated movies, such as Despicable Me, are mind-blowing. The manufactured 3D has more depth with the 3D, where as filmed 3D such as live-action, there's a foreground and background, no real inbetween. Still cool, but not the depth like in an animated cartoon, etc.
if you want to check it out or something, I'd be open to letting you watch some football then firing up a movie. WE have the active glasses that pair with the tv and use a battery.

Ours is a Samsung 46" borderless LED Smart 3D (240hz refresh rate). 1600 for just the TV, not a deal. But with the glasses, movies and shipping, that's a deal.

i would wait til the halo deck tv comes out. I'm not too thrilled on wearing glasses while i watch tv.....i have also heard you can get an implant on your orbs to view 3d sets..ridiculously extreme. one of those WTF.

I recently bought a 60-inch Sony Bravia HDTV that is backlit with light-emitting diodes (LEDs). It's not 3D, but it has amazing picture quality - especially when I am watching a movie on Blu Ray. I have it hooked up to my surround sound, and it's just like being at the movies.
How would you like to get roundhouse kicked with a motorcycle?
Samsung LED or Plasma, pick one that fits your budget. imho. If I were buying it would be the 64" Samsung Plasma: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PN64D8...2607331&sr=1-1
One thing I've learned in all this LED/LCD/PLASMA bullshit is that you can have too big of a TV.
We have a 46" Samsung 240hz LED and if you are closer than 8' to this TV, it's horrible. 15' were the couch is, it's pure heaven....any bigger of a TV and I think it'd suck.
