Yeah, he went pretty far into how to do the install. I didn't do the harness, since I picked up the 35W, so I don't know how thorough the rest is.

Hooked them up last night real quick to see if everything worked and it was a success. They look great and put out some nice light. I still need to route the harness, which is going to be a PITA and I'm somewhat wishing I didn't order the thing in the first place. Oh well, it will give me something to do during this shitty weather.

Let me know when you get these installed we will have to go test them out.

I installed a set of xentec slim hids on my 99 r6 and they kept shutting off while riding... I then installed the relay harness still same results... I don't recommend them anymore unless there is such a kit that is "good"

Maybe it's just the brand you got? I've had my DDMs for almost 2 years (2 years in May) and never had any issues with them.

There are plenty of good HID kits to choose from, but the Xentec is definitely not one of them. Got them to try out on the EVO and they were terrible. Sometimes one wouldn't light up, had to turn off the headlights then back on. And when they were on, they would flicker intermittently.

There was a thread of the clarity and fullness of the light on a few forums from higher end kits to the ebay low end kits and there was definitely a difference.

Completed my conversion over this past week. I pulled out the multimeter and was able to get everything running off the factory wiring harnesses without any wire taps. Angel/Devil ring turn on with the accessory light prior to starting the bike, and both low/high beams fully working. I opted for the 35w 10000k bulb to start but picked up another 8000k bulb just in case the brightness wasn't good enough (I think if I remember the brightness starts tapering off after 6000k).

Pulled my Fuel tank and the air assembly up so that I could feed all the wiring back to the battery and cleanly map it alongside the existing wiring harness.

The only real pain has got to be the annoying tar glue used on the housing. It's gooey and gets everywhere. it ruined a couple spots of the primed/painted interior but luckily those were hidden by the external molding.

Looks good, I'd also like to see that angel eye lit up. This was a good cheap mod to do, I took mine out for a quick night ride Monday and really liked the new lights.

I had taken the projector assembly apart and re-aligned the rings so that the gaps where the wire caps were would be properly lined up to the top/bottom. When I first got the projector and tested with a 12v feed, I found they were offset all over the place. This photo doesn't do it justice but its the best I could get with my phone. The Angel ring (outside) is blue and The Devil ring (inside) is green.

You just have a wrong/bad kit. We have installed these lights on probbaly close to 40-50 bikes now. We use several different brands and they are all good and legit products.

I tell everyone I can.. HIDs are by far the single best modification to any motorcycle, especially with the cost figured in. if you do any night riding at all and you don't have them yet, you are missing out. There has been some bugs/finicky issues on some bikes but we have them all figured out now. Nothing major or difficult just simple issues.

Many fear the install but we only charge 1 HR to 1.5 HRS depending on the vehicle. I think most fears come from wiring and mounting locations. But if you have any technical knowledge at all they are super simple and many people forget that you can extend any of the "pre-made" wiring. This way you can mount the ballasts anywhere on the bike.

Yeah there was no real issue with the installs. The only real catch I would have to say is that on newer bikes, the rider needs to be aware that you should turn your bike on to accessory and allow the fuel pump/injectors to finish the few seconds of cycling they do prior to trying to start the engine, due to the additional power draw from the ballast.

I agree with The Jackal, they are a good mod for bikes, not necessarily the 'best', but for anyone who does long riding trips or a lot of night driving it is a must. (especially us old farts who can't see well at night anymore)

I know my HIDs were one of the best things I've done to the bike, besides suspension set up. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I've heard about bad vision with the light with the more blue colors during rain and fog, so that's something to be careful with. I'm assuming that's at around 8000k and greater.

Agreed. 4800k really is the best for visibility. Beyond that the lumens output diminishes.
