Just keep at it and it will eventually get back to where it was. I tore my rotator cuff too and was told I needed surgery. Talked to a friend who rehabed his and I went this route instead of surgery. Took a few years (and over a year of no bench press), but it is back to normal now. I am a big beleiver in physical therapy!

I finally kicked the diet soda in favor of plain old water and the scale has started moving south again.

Dang I got to measure mine now. Think I was at 17inch last time I checked but that was a long time ago; and when I had healthy arm tendons When I measures I did have a 30 inch waist with that though.

Really? Any idea why because all diet sodas have zero calories. A buddy of mine and I just had this converstation last week trying to decide if zero calorie drinks (like diet sodas and no sugar energy drinks) actually can have a negative effect. From what we found it was only the caffeine that may trigger hunger. Both him and I are cafeeine addicts and wondered if their has been proof that no calorie energy drinks are affecting our leaness.

Or could it be that the water fills you up, but diet drinks leave you hungry

Honestly curious on this if anyone knows. Agghh...could I live without my no sugar Monster, Xyience, or Rockstar drinks :S

I drink so much water though too! At least two liters a day if not more

Just never seen any proof diet sodas can actually gain weight since they have no calories

The sugar substitutes can trigger interesting things in your body. I don't have the time to dig up the stuff on it now, but it should be relatively easy to find if you're interested in looking yourself.

Re: CSC Gets Back into Shape 10/1/11

I agree the label says zero calories.

but do you really believe that something with sweeteners can be a "free lunch"?

I have come to believe that a can of Miller Lite is healthier than a can of Diet Pepsi. Giving up the sweeteners was tough. I've now limited myself to one can a week as a special treat.

sorry, I don't have anything more solid to back it up but I believe it and believe it's what's working for me. When I saw the scale start working for me again, it further remotivated me to watch the portions and exersize which of course has helped further.

I've looked before but never found any real proof that it really does; all seemed to be speculation. My aunt has always been under 10% body fat and she drinks probably 5 diet Pepsi's a day. I am not disagreeing saying they are healthy, anyone would be foolish to think that, but I really do wonder if they are really as bad for you as they say. I personally only drink them as a treat too, mainly energy drinks.

Article in Men's Health on it which still concluded there is no real proof http://news.menshealth.com/diet-soda...se/2012/02/08/

Would be good to stop them and see if it made a difference in the body. I've done this with alcohol and seen a huge difference...interesting

Why, can you get me some because I have never tried anything illegal for muscle building

After 30 your body drops testosterone each year so you young guys are the ones with "natural" steriods going through you that I don't have at age 34

At 40 I will go get tested and hopefully be able to get legal TRT because I am a huge beleiver in it and the issues low testosterone can have!

I keed guy, I keed.... I'll never use them imo, I'll get as far as I can with natural sources. I'm steady at 160 so pretty happy. Just want to tone more than gain now.

    But testosterone is natural

I know you are kidding man. Fact is I spend so much time at the gym, but I love it and the added strength I keep getting.

Yup, story of my life man! Gain, then tone, gain then tone.....being doing this since 135 pounds....some may say I am obsessed...cuz I am. About 180lbs now at a "gaining" phase, but stay below a 32 inch waist to keep that "V" shape and not have a huge tummy . Strength and progress are like a drug!

How about some steriods in a smartie label for real cheap

Serious though people that don't understand the dangers of low testosterone for men over 40 are taking a big risk. It really can be a medical issue that needs legal TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) prescribed to them. For some reason men are losing testosterone faster than in the past!
