IMO the most beautiful Time in Colorado and also the best time to ride. Absolutely stunning scenery. Everything just pops.

Think I may do that tomorrow.... hmmm. Thanks!
This is the route we took last Sunday. With the exception of the I70 portion Sunday afternoon, traffic was a non factor.

Great pics, Matrix. Thanks for sharing. Here some pics from last weekend - Million Dollar Hwy was great riding, but the biggest surprise was Grand Mesa. This was my first time and it was amazing!
Avon , west of Vail, looked beautiful, too:
Blue Mesa water levels are very low

We originally planned to do the trip this weekend, but the weather made us nervous so we pushed it up a week. I bet you could still do the trip this coming weekend and maybe the first weekend in Oct. We have been out in the Ouray area the last 3 years straight this time of year and the weather has always been perfect. Honestly, it was kind of hot (70-80s) on Sunday coming back over the Mesa.
Route we took last weekend - http://goo.gl/maps/Z70pg
We ran out of daylight on Sunday, so had to slab it back to the Springs. Also add about 100 miles once we got to Ouray and spend time playing on the Million $. If you can, get off 70 to Breck, Fairplay, and back 285.
Nice, Guanela looks pretty awesome too.... Out of topic but man that soccer mom there is asking to get some serious T-BONE action! lol
