3/5 on Stalker, not great, not bad. Firing up Metropia.
Watch Max and Mary on netflix. It's a very dark movie, but well done.

Don't forget Leviathan, 1989!
I never saw Leviathon, but I do remember The Abyss. Very intelligent, loved that one!

Metropia was Ok, kinda standard, not bad, not earth-shattering.
Just watched The Warrior's Way, odd genre-bending ninja in Wild West movie. Kinda campy at times, fairly predictable, yet I enjoyed it as a fun if not deep movie. Sorta like Kung Fu Hustle, but darker at times...
4/5 for me, mainly because it surpassed my (low) expectations. It's on NF streaming.

Finished Akira, not sure what I think. It's not as good as some other Epic Anime movies. I liked spirited away, castle in the sky (moving castle), etc more.

If you haven't, check out Samurai Champloo and my all-time favorite Cowboy BeBop.

Yeah Akira today has lost some of it's amazing-ness. When I first saw it, there was little to no other Anime out here, so of course it was epic (back in highschool).
I need to check out Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky...

Forgot to mention, but Samurai Champloo & Cowboy Bebop are tv series, then there's a Bebop movie that came out after the series was finished. Watch the series first & it'll make more sense.
Back to Live Action, saw Bunraku and thought that despite its cast and some amazing visuals The Warrior's Way was actually the better movie of the two.
Just like Sucker Punch, Bunraku didn't have a lot of heart or hook to support its style.

Check out the butcher, the cook, and the swordsman

This movie was dumb as shit. Glad I waited until it came out on rental but pissed off I wasted two hours. Fail!

Spent $200 on Ringling brothers and that was well spent money at last minute.

Waiting for the director's cut before picking up the bluray
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.
Still worth seeing, imo. Especially if you love sci-fi, effects, the Alien franchise, etc. If you've read some of the better posts in this thread, you can pretty much figure out what the main gripes, holes, and questions are. BUT, still worth seeing.
I'm definitely picking up the Director's cut (3D combo) BluRay, when it comes out.

We watched it last night via OnDemand. I thought it was a pretty good flick, albeit with a few odd scenarios that didn't fit in too well. I'll likely buy it in the near future.
