Love MST3K, and they do Riff Tracks now, since copyright keeps them from doing MST3K on more recent movies.

I just started up Metropia on NF, friend recommended it. Dystopian future, unique/odd animation style...

3/5 on Stalker, not great, not bad. Firing up Metropia.

Watch Max and Mary on netflix. It's a very dark movie, but well done.

I never saw Leviathon, but I do remember The Abyss. Very intelligent, loved that one!

Metropia was Ok, kinda standard, not bad, not earth-shattering.

Just watched The Warrior's Way, odd genre-bending ninja in Wild West movie. Kinda campy at times, fairly predictable, yet I enjoyed it as a fun if not deep movie. Sorta like Kung Fu Hustle, but darker at times...

4/5 for me, mainly because it surpassed my (low) expectations. It's on NF streaming.

Finished Akira, not sure what I think. It's not as good as some other Epic Anime movies. I liked spirited away, castle in the sky (moving castle), etc more.

Think it's also a matter of seeing Akira now, after seeing everything else. In it's day it was revolutionary and really the first Anime to make an impact in America.

But, yeah, out of that context it's showing its age.

I certainly get that, just commenting. Off to find something else... Watching 9th Company. Russian invasion of Afghanistan and all (in Russian lol). It's been interesting to watch movies portraying other countries' experiences with Afghanistan.

Sounds good thanks for the recommendations. Keep them coming, I like what you've shared so far. I liked rurouni kenshin.

Yeah Akira today has lost some of it's amazing-ness. When I first saw it, there was little to no other Anime out here, so of course it was epic (back in highschool).

I need to check out Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky...

Forgot to mention, but Samurai Champloo & Cowboy Bebop are tv series, then there's a Bebop movie that came out after the series was finished. Watch the series first & it'll make more sense.

Back to Live Action, saw Bunraku and thought that despite its cast and some amazing visuals The Warrior's Way was actually the better movie of the two.

Just like Sucker Punch, Bunraku didn't have a lot of heart or hook to support its style.

GBW's been in my queue a while, guess I'll have to make time & watch it. I'll check out the Swordsman too.

Did I list Centurion w/ Fassbender? That's pretty good.

And if you've missed it, Tron Uprising is really good for a cartoon.

This movie was dumb as shit. Glad I waited until it came out on rental but pissed off I wasted two hours. Fail!

I think Iron Sky is much better ,Id rather die for humanity then convert in to theese ugly creatures.
Spent $200 on Ringling brothers and that was well spent money at last minute.

Waiting for the director's cut before picking up the bluray
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

    Wish I did this.

Have they even started on the sequel yet? Paradise...if that's what they're calling it?

Still worth seeing, imo. Especially if you love sci-fi, effects, the Alien franchise, etc. If you've read some of the better posts in this thread, you can pretty much figure out what the main gripes, holes, and questions are. BUT, still worth seeing.

I'm definitely picking up the Director's cut (3D combo) BluRay, when it comes out.

We watched it last night via OnDemand. I thought it was a pretty good flick, albeit with a few odd scenarios that didn't fit in too well. I'll likely buy it in the near future.
