I appreciate your dedication to spearheading the benefit for Jim. May I make a suggestion. Try to find an indoor space. It's WINTER man. Even tho the forecast says 50+ on Sunday -- that means WIND. All the food will get cold in minutes. Just a suggestion. I'd help but I live on another planet.

    A Good point indeed.

If you need an indoor place I may be able to help, my office has a large warehouse that has a gas heater it wont be 70 degrees but we keep it at about 60 and with people in it it warms up quickly. Its in Centennial near the Bronco training camp off bronco parkway.

I looked and indoor was going to be pretty expensive. If you have any advice on where to look for indoor space that is under $100, please let me know.

I am confident the sun will be shining and I will be using some catering equipment to keep the food nice and hot.

Although it looks like I will need to borrow a generator. Anybody want to help out and lend their genny?

If we do it at the right time the weather should hold up nice enough to do it outside

That's why I did 11:00 - 4:00 so we are out during the warmest part of the day. Looks like sunny skies too so that will help a bunch.

For sure, 50's should be plenty nice to hold the BBQ for a few hrs

Re: TFOG Jim BBQ Benefit - Silent Auction - Sunday January 20th

There are a lot of days between now and Sunday for the forecast to change, and NOAA has the high at 45 (meaning 40 without windchill at 11am). This is winter in CO, it could easily change to snow that day. I agree with the going indoors thing, especially if Grim has a space to hold it. That would solve your power issue as well.

I think I'm probably in for attending, but won't be riding either way.

I need a favor from someone. Abate of Colorado has offered up some clothing items for the silent auction. I need someone to run by there to pick them up this week and either drop them off at my place or bring them to the event.

Re: TFOG Jim BBQ Benefit - Silent Auction - Sunday January 20th

We can do it here at my house. I have enough room for 30-40 people esp since the upstairs bedroom is empty. If that doesn't work for everyone, let me see what I can do to work my magic. We might be able to do it at The Nut or the place where the MRA banquet is held. I'll call today. If that doesn't work, we might be able to use the ABATE D10 meeting house, the Frontier Club. Let me work on some options.

The Walnut room may be a good option too. They have concerts in that large area at night, but it should be open during the day.

I will call Walnut. Just keep me posted in here.

    Thanks.

Re: TFOG Jim BBQ Benefit - Silent Auction - Sunday January 20th

I remember a few years back when I was going on a good sized trip when I ran into a snag before leaving. I changed my oil and forgot to put the washer on my drain bolt and ended up cracking my aluminum oil pan pretty good. I called Jim on Saturday and he arranged to have it fixed on Sunday through a friend of his. I received it back on Monday and set off on a 4k and change trip to the UP of Michigan. Not single drop of oil came through that the whole time and for the remainder of my time with that bike. Quality work that saved me a couple hundred.

The Frontier Club on Colfax might be able to do it. I am waiting for a call back.
