Most legislation is written by special interest groups and/or lobbyists (regardless of party), most of the gun bills were pushed by Bloomberg's lobbyists and the like and the White House. This is what happens when people think they know what they are talking about and go "off-script" and then get caught not knowing. Kind of like Maxine Waters talking about how the sequester was going to cost America 170 million jobs....when there aren't that many in the US total, public or private sector.

True, and exactly why we need to STOP that shit. How many thousands of laws, nationwide, were written by morons and their knee-jerk reactions? no wonder they're unenforceable and in fact some Sheriff's now are refusing to enforce them.
