WOW! I'd rather spend on the hookers and blow but cool! I have a traxxas slash brushless. That thing is a big enough pita (but fun) to control I can't imagine how hard the x0-1 is to control at speed!

    Sorry for your loss!

Btw, what an odd road. Three lanes one-way, but can't see the other direction road?

Am I the only one who chuckled at your choice of soundtrack?

I had to throw that in there

The cars only cost ~$800 now, but over the course of a year I put way too much money in the car which is why I just bought a bike

It's not as hard as you think to control at speed it's just I always end up running it in the wind

$1100 in upgrades to an R/C car?! Dang, back in the day you could buy a badass little car for like $200. But I guess at that age $200 was like $1k would be to us now anyway, heheh.

I used to be WAY into RC's and had tons of RC cars and trucks and helis. But got out of it a year ago as the hobby was very expensive. I was never attracted to the XO-1 due to its high cost, but for sure I can believe it cost that much when it is totalled. There's really nowhere you have the space to get that thing up to its 100mph speed with the iphone app. Hopefully you'll be back up and running!

That road I was on was perfect other than I should have shoveled the dirt away from the curb. Usually the car just bounces off the curbs and breaks plastics and slides on the roof. The dirt mounds are what tore it apart.

Here's the fastest XO-1 so far. He has since hit 156 mph with it.

Those XO1 are crazy! I was into bashing and had a stampede, slash, and my favorite basher was my electrix ruckus. Used to go to wheel park off iliff and they had an rc track and skateboard ramps. When it came time to dirt I used the track and to bash I used to launch them off the quarter pipes. Lots of fun!

Nice, I have a Slash 4x4 now, but I am going to either sell it or upgrade it so I can bash a little. I just don't want to keep breaking RC cars because you are right, it gets expensive fast. I started off saying I would only spend $700 and ended up at $2400 in a year.

Re: How I lost $1900 this weekend - Wreck Inside

Yep its expensive. I remember getting a Ruckus just to get started and spent $130 on it then went all out and was at $2000 and 13 cars and helis inside 5 months. It was fun tho. I think bashing is the best because the stuff doesn't break and you get to have fun. Then again I did break a few things. But the electrix ruckus was well built and parts were cheap. The cool thing was that some parts from traxxas were able to fit onto the ruckus such as the axles off the rustler. I ended up with an xl5 traxxas waterporoof esc and the titan 12t motor from the traxxas and it was too powerful for the stock axles so had to put in traxxas ones off the rustler vxl and it was a freakin beast! Could bash that thing off ramps and it was a trooper.
