Author is a giant douche. Pedrosa is always in the running and though he may not have the racecraft to be a #1 plate, he's still top 5 in the world. On top of that, every interview I've ever seen him give, he's been humble and has taken the time to thank his team and sponsors. As far as I can tell, he's a class act and I'd love to see him have a bit of luck and win a championship.
All that said, Marquez is beyond human and right now, I'd say he's unbeatable when healthy.
Pedro actually is a serious contender, and frequently finds himself on the podium if not winning
although not the greatest attitude

I think it's time for him to leave the Repsol team and personally I thought it was time for him to leave the team two years ago! The only thing Pedrosa has going for him is his Spanish descent and apparently that's enough to keep the seat filled. I also believe it's time to give Pedrosa the ' Hayden' ultimatum. Win or your gone.

My opinion, since you asked for it:
I think the author brings up some valuable points. Dani can win when he's got the best bike. He's had the best bike for most of his career. Dani doesn't seem to be able to ride around problems. If the bike isn't perfect, or nearly perfect, he ends up following, not leading.
Dani has been the "golden child" at Honda for his entire career. Following the Hayden era Honda essentially designed the bike for / around him.
Ultimately I agree with the assertion that Dani will take over Randy Mamola's title of "best rider to never win the world championship"
I don't agree with the tone that he's a taker. To be a professional athlete in any sport at this level you have to possess a degree of selfishness that most of us would find incomprehensible. Dani is just less good at having a public face that people like than some of the others. Dani came up in the age of the Rossi Supernova. Like very few others in the history of ANY sport he's created an empire around him based on a public persona. Valentino Rossi is a brand, almost as much as he's a person, and make no doubt about it, when the chips are down he's as serious and non-personanable as Dani. He's just better at making sure we rarely, if ever, see that.
I also wonder if the author has contributed more to the sport of motorcycle racing than Dani Pedrosa
My first instinct tells me that unless it's Casey Stoner's online profile, he's nowhere even close
