    Re: Rock The Gear

I'm going to have to agree with Bueller and Bulldog when it comes to the gear people ride with. It's never really bothered me what gear others wear or don't wear. I figure it's their life and their health. Way I look at it, is I can die on my bike wearing a full race suit, helmet, race gloves and boots just as easy as someone without. It's all perspective and what actually happens in the event of an accident.

I've had two bad crashes. One at the track and one while commuting to work. The track I was in full head to toe gear. The crash going to work, I was wearing a helmet, gloves and jacket but work pants and work boots. Walked away unscathed at the track, except for a thundering headache, bruised ego and trashed bike. Going to work, I hurt my shoulder, elbow and skinned my knee. I still don't have 100% extension in my right arm due to it not healing right(or I should say me not seeking medical attention and rehab for it).

Crash at the track was around 70mph, crash going to work was about 30mph going through an intersection and hitting gravel. Track was completely my fault, but going to work I wasn't speeding just hit some gravel in the dim early morning light. Way I looked at it, sh*t happens and you move on. My knee was busted up and hurting. I knew I was bleeding as I could feel it running down my leg. I just sucked it up and still made it to work with 5 minutes to spare(Like a Boss!!)

Riding dirtbikes, I hardly wore any protective gear. Helmet and goggles, gloves and Tech 3 boots(as I didn't want to snap an ankle). Other than that, I wore t-shirts and jeans. Took a lot of dirtnaps but again just suck it up, get back on and keep riding.

All in all, people will wear the gear they deem fit for their specific situation. Me personally, in the mountains and the track I'm "All Gear", going to work I rock upper body protection and that's it.

The only thing I care about or have an issue with when I see people wearing it, is those f**king gay ass mohawks that people put on their helmets. Those have got to be the lamest sh*t I've ever seen and you're a loser if you wear one(sorry that's how I feel).

Each of you agree with not caring what other people wear, I feel the same and if you go butt ass naked I still dont care. BUT, I was given this article to read many years ago and after I read it I started wearing gear after people just as yourself have done shared your stories and made me change my thought process. So even though you dont care, you still shared and still have educated. Good job on thinking this was a stupid article and keeping it alive either way.

Damn 57!!! Wonder if she's got that "rode hard, put away wet" look to her. Please tell me you still tip here with $1's and not Boniva.

I tipped her. Thinks I gave her 10 ones. I wanted to see them... She offered a personal lap dance. But did not have 100 bucks ...

$100 for a private lap dance?? That's a bit steep!

But I will say this, if you're going to hit up a strip club, you should probably pack more than a $100. My last trip I dropped over $250 in just a couple hours. Then again I'm not much for frequenting gentleman's clubs that much. So when I do go, it's once and a great while so I splurge a bit

I have motorcycle stuff to buy. I just had some serious beer goggles on. She is prolly as attractive as the landlord in kingpin with woody harrelson if she was out of the smoke and low lighting.

Drama2 what is a silver slipper? Another adult club?

LOL!! yeah man, they all look awesome with some serious beer goggles. Last time I was at a club was for a bachelor's party and I was pretty tanked. From what I remember is they all looked amazing. I'm sure once the beer wore off the ladies would look way different(thankfully I left before it did). But that's all the strip club is good for, get your drink on and throw some dollars bills around.

I agree as well, I've always got way cooler stuff I could spend some money on. However, I'd say once a year it's nice to take a trip to the gentleman's club just to have a good time. I don't stay very long either. Couple hours and then I bail. After that you're just wasting time and money.

Oh yeah!! CSC can deliver a thread jack like no other

Where else can a thread start off with informative intentions about wearing your gear, only to then snowball into a quick tangent about strippers.

All we need now is for Townie to show up and this threads path to the dark side will be complete...

    Re: Rock The Gear

Sure, I shrug my shoulders and think “well, it’s their skin.” This couple reminded me of the photo sequence in Sport Rider a few years back when two-up on a Triumph went down on a popular road in CA. The passenger was in shorts, tank top and sandals. This gal reportedly had to the bone rash and was hospitalized for weeks. And these threads are not a waste. ATGATT threads are on every motorcycle related forum. Maybe this VFR rider will see one of these threads and think twice about heading up Boulder Canyon two-up in no gear. Riders that go down and end up in the hospital affect all of us and the sport of motorcycling in general, and not in a good way.

It is the black lights too! Low light combined with black lights makes a lot of people look good; check it out next time and you will look like you have a epic tan. A friend of mine dated a stripper and the difference of how they looked under the "club lights" and when we got them back to the house party was pretty crazy; caked on makeup for a lot of them. All I can say is avoid ever dating a stripper (lucky I did not have to learn this; saw my buddy and the whore he went through (yes pun intended)).

Honestly the strip club has really lost it's flair for me after marrying a fitness addict like me (who doesn't even care if I got to a strip club). Now I go and say "dang, all these strippers have a worse body than what I have at home"; my wife if like 115lbs with D's (ICU nurse too; so smart also) . Just seems like these girls need to be "dream girls" so it can be a bit disappointing (of who they let strip)...of course there are exceptions....usually at higher class places like Diamond. I agree though, once a year for a couple hours is about all for me now. Although kicking it with the guys there is always cool as long as I can avoid being asked for lap dances every 5 minutes. Bachelor parties are always the best there...usually ends with buddy on stage being embarrassed by a flock of strippers....heck we need to just fake bachelor parties and go (Spearmint Rhino in Vegas even gave us a free limo when it was a bachelor party)

To stay on topic at least: Drama2, I can only speak for myself, but please do not think I felt the article you posted was dumb because I did not. Yeah I'll give you that, it must be the lights. Because when you think about it, not every strip club has an "A Squad" that can dance all the time. So the "B", "C" and even "D" squads need all the help they can get. And I agree, I would never date a stripper. Just couldn't stomach all the men staring at her night in and night out. Plus, when you think about it. Is that really the kind of girl you want long term anyways?? Probably not.. I liken dating a stripper to "shiny toy" syndrome. Once the novelty wears off and you're tired of all her sh*t, you're moving on to something else. Another bad fact for dating a stripper, is many of them also end up in the porn industry.

I'll have to agree also with strip clubs losing their luster or flare. Once you've been to one, you've been to them all. So for me, it's a once a year treat, usually with some buddies and a lot of beer HAHA!

As for bachelor parties, that exact thing happened at the last one I was at. The groom got to go up on stage and get a triple dance from the ladies. Best way to avoid getting hit up for lap dances constantly is to hang at the stage and drop singles for awhile. The girls not on stage aren't allowed to approach guys at the stage while another dancer is up there. I guess it's some sort of Strip Club rule so stripper can't twat block each other.

Only strip club I really want to go to is Vince Neil's Girls Girls Girls in Vegas. I'm hoping to do a Vegas trip with some buddies later this year and that's the first thing I'm going to do. Get a nice buzz on and then over to hang out with 1/4 of Motley Crue and his ladies.
