Wow two more. Kind of surprised it was for two and not the one year most were hinting towards.

Maybe there wasn't anyone else Yamaha thought it was worth the time since most are tied to a two year contract already? I dk

Article mentions that Aleix is in talks to possibly ride with Suzuki, so NGM Forward's second position is still technically open.
In my mind this means that Jorge essentially got what he wanted salary wise. It's a win for both of them really - Jorge is the most likely rider in the field to have another championship in him (aside from MM93). He's still reasonably young, has the ability to develop a motorcycle and is a highly consistent rider. Beyond that, you might keep him in your stable as long as possible because you don't want to compete against him.
Oh I agree with you on it being wise for Yamaha to keep him around. Only thing is, he wouldn't have been such a threat if he went to a team with bike that doesn't say Honda or Yamaha on the tank. Had Lorenzo went to Suzuki or Ducati, I'm sure Yamaha wouldn't have too much of a concern right out the gates. If he had went to Honda, then yes Yamaha would be considerable concerned about competing against him.

Lorenzo is the bomb. In my mind he's still #2 on the grid. He's probably still shell shocked from Marquez kicking his ass last season. Talk about raining on somebody's parade.

So is Cal getting a factory option and Miller will be on the "Open"?
There haven't been any details as far as what designation they'll have but I assume both on the same ride. Yea redding is going to VDS since Gresini signed with Aprilia

I just finished reading an Italian paper that mentioned Jeremy Burges may be coming back to the paddock to help with Miller
