It wasn't bad. Lame that you had to pay $5 to get in, but oh well. Had some reach cobbler and peach ice cream!
Plus, I got to check out Sully's peaches It was great seeing you Sully! I'm really glad we got to bump into each other!!!!

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

Has been. You've got to come some time!

I'll take you up on it one of these days.

Just about time for my yearly peach pilgrimage!
I've got more flavor than a packet of macaroni.
Another awesome Peachfest trip has come to a close. This year the ride up, around, and back was much colder then previous years. I think we are in for a hell of a winter. I even ran into some snow. The scenery out that way is always amazing! Until next year...

So it's getting to be about that time again, and I'm thinking about opening this up to a couple of people (2 MAYBE 3 max). This years dates are 8-14 - 8-17 that's leaving on Friday and coming back on Monday. You are welcome to go home on Sunday but after being stuck in a traffic suck fest forever for the last couple years I've decided that staying the extra day is worth it.
Some info, requirements and such:
I don't care if you are faster then me and I don't care if you are slower. You shouldn't care if I'm either of those to you. I do care that you ride within your limits, we will be far from home. If you are slower I will wait for you at turn offs and such and if I am slower I expect the same. I do care that we get along. Don't be a douchebag.
Minimum gear is helmet, jacket, gloves and boots.
Be ready and make sure your bike is ready for a 1500 mile trip. Be prepared for all kinds of weather as I have seen it all on these trips. Usually you can see it coming so your not caught off guard. I tend to push on instead of pull off and wait.
Day 1 - About 500 miles and will take 10-12hrs. This is with stops being fairly short. We are on the road no later then 6am. Usually get in to Grand Junction around 5pm
Day 2 - Peach pancake breakfast in the park at 8:00am afterwards we hit Grand Mesa and I have a couple other roads up my sleeve. I'd say plan on about 350-400 miles. And then hitting the Peachfest in late afternoon/evening. (Obviously you can opt in or out of any of this.)
Day 3 - Leave GJ. There are a couple different ways this ride can go which we can discuss but we hit MDH/550 and end up in Durango or Pagosa Springs for the night. 250 - 350 miles
Day 4 - Head home. 380 miles
I am already booked at Doubletree in GJ and have not booked for day 3 yet.
You can book in the same hotel for about $155 for the 2 nights.
Let me know if there is any interest.

If I'm in town that weekend (50/50 right now) I'll meet you down there.
Looks like fun. If the ride up to Sturgis and back is good, I might join you. Also, what route are you planning on taking?
Was gonna sign up for this but we'll see what the bill at Fay Myers and at court will be lol

Word.
I will say that the longer you wait the higher the price of the hotel will be.

Send me a link to the hotel and I'll keep an eye out on the prices in the next few days. I need out of here for a few days and clear my head. Hope the bike thing is minor

Gonna book Sunday's stay in either Durango or Pagosa this week, and the Double Tree in GJ is still priced low.

Looks like I'm going to book Pinewood Inn in Pagosa for Sunday. The Double Tree in GJ is still at a good price. Last chance for riders to join. I will be hitting several of the best roads this state has to offer both in scenery and twisties.
