How many miles per day approximately?
I might be interested in doing this... Anyone else on the forums thinking about going?
I guess I'm wondering why people would pay $50 for something that's free. At least provide a bologna sandwich!
...with mayonnaise!

Funny I ask my wife the same thing for all the running marathons she does.....why pay to run when it's free...seems ridiculous
To stay on topic it states:
Riders are assigned a position in the Motomarathon Association’s lifetime standings section according to their total checkpoint accumulation. We have awards for most checkpoints for each season, and an annual photo contest as well.
So maybe this is to cover the prizes???? For $50 a head better be some nice prizes

Bulldog's Motto: F*ck around and I'm going to bite you!!!
I fnd it interesting yet I'm a person who would give crap to my wife for paying to run 5K/halfs. But I guess it's a little different: a) not knowing your route ahead of time makes it intriguing b) earn points-gamification c) what bulldog said d) get to share your experiences with others/meet people. If it had more dirt thrown to it, I guess I'd call the Spartan of motorcycling endurance riding.
So ya, I'd be interested to try it out once.

I paid up to get my "Iron Butt" placard... I don't see much difference. It takes resources to plan and organize these events. Also takes resources to maintain their data...
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.
