    Shooting Range Recommendations

Looking for reasonable priced shooting range near Denver. Also, looking for free open space shooting areas. Thanks

Boulder rifle club has public days, but its closed during the winter and the membership wait is like 11 years now. There are quite a few places to shoot in BLM areas. I go up by Allenspark often enough but you gotta watch out, there are some crazy, untrained fucking asshats that will be out there shooting at times.

I need to break-in a new barrel. Which will suck at a range. Clean the bore after every round for 25. Clean the bore every ten rounds for 100. Wish there was a way to shoot into the ground through an insulated (for sound) box in my crawlspace.

I recommend Centennial Gun Club. Membership is not required to use the facilities but if you do become a member range time is free

By far the best indoor range I've ever been to. Also, the most expensive. For Kim and I to join, it's $547 and then $55/month. Freakin' rip-off! That's why we won't join.

I only go when my buddy, who is a member, takes me on one of his "buddy" passes.

Last time I went shooting, I went to http://www.quailruncolorado.com/

Nice facility, clean, not overly crowded, and hands off range officers. Definitely felt safe without feeling baby sat.

Not located in Denver but Loveland has a really nice, active and friendly range. I am a member out at http://www.thefrgc.com/ It's only $30 a month with $100 joining fee.

I'm frugal, so I buy these for The Shootist on Groupon:

    https://www.groupon.com/biz/englewoo...t-pistol-range

P.S. That price comes with a firearm rental, but if you bring your own they give you more targets in exchange.

Wow, I guess there is an advantage to being a "charter" member. I would not pay those prices myself but at the time I joined membership I think was $150 and monthly is only $29.99

Bristlecone is a nice indoor range on the west side. I'm not a fan of shooting long guns indoors and go to Bailey Gun Club with a member buddy. Nice and secluded with 1000 yard sighting range.

Centennial seems like a nice place.

I'm from NC so shooting guns in the house was always reserved for holidays and weddings. It still seems weird to shoot inside.

+1 on Centennial. There is also BluCore Shooting Center. And Cherry Creek State Park has an outdoor range.
