If you can make it out to morison by 9am or so, I am sure there are others as long as weather permits of course. I have seen several groups come through there, pretty easy to chit chat with them, get a feel of what kind of riding they are going to do, plus you can check out their bike (tires) and get a feel of how they ride as well.
looking at someones tires to see how they ride? You seriously do that? What about people who are running take offs? I don't think I would wanna ride with people who push to the limits on the streets anyhow...
Just because someone can lean the bike to eliminate "chicken strips" or top out their bike in a straight line doesn't mean that they are a smart or safe rider.

I think that's a very legitimate way to get at least a partial feel for the rider. Obviously, just because they obviously have gummed-up race tires on doesn't mean that they didn't just buy take-offs either because they were cheap or just want to look cool. I also look for damaged bodywork. And fur (like the Starboys and other stunter ass-clowns) is a HUGE warning sign.
Besides, isn't checking out the other riders tires' just the sportbikers equivalent of dogs sniffing each other's asses?!?!

People running take-offs, that is pretty obvious. It's not a question about pushing it on the street, was just giving him some ideas on what he can look for. Smart and safe riding, well, you can get a little feel by talking to them among other ways....Originally Posted by Beotch

I'm sure Bill's tires and bike condition would give you a great idea on how safe of a rider HE isOriginally Posted by Slo1299

Comment about what?
That lots of people might not want to ride with you based on your recent actions?
That Bill is a danger to himself and those around him?
That looking at someones tires might give you an idea of their riding ability but probably not a great way to judge someone?
Jon
tires mean little to anything. Just trying to find out how much some riders are having to lean on various turns. Some bikes have lower centers of gravity opposed to others. Just because one rider leans more then another it doesn't mean that the rider is the key but the bike...to a degree. Anyways, how did tires get into the mix?
P.S. what are the best tires you guys have used?

Tires... He asked about tires. Can I jack the thread? I would start my own but Bassil's threads get so much more viewing. Anyone have a 180 rear tire with good center tread that is worth mounting. I have some flatland riding to do and just need something that will match the 2000 mile or so I have left on my front pilot power.
yeah I might have one for you. Problem is you gotta wait till I get my new tire in so that you can take my old one
