+1 for pre-workout drinks. Helps with muscle build, motivation, and energy needed to push yourself to the limits.
Just remember, a good diet is just as important as exercise. Wether you are trying to cut weight or build muscle, eating right will make all the difference. Also, this needs to be a 24/7 commitment. Don't slack or you are just setting yourself back.

Believe it or not, I stay pretty lean with this diet It's hard as hell for me to put weight on. My metabolism has yet to slow down. Last time I checked I was around 8%
I think that's something I need the most. It takes me a while to get into the workout, and I feel lazy for the first 5 or so minutes of it. I want to be excited to do it, and go all out for it. I think that's why I lose interest in working out so easily.
Sweet Jesus, that's a lot of food! How much is your grocery bill each week?!

I must be addicted to the endorphins cause I cant wait to work out. Preworkouts make it even better. As my friend calls it "swole patrol!"
My grocery bill is steep. Milk...actually all dairy is expensive as hell right now. 1 to 2 chicken breasts a day also adds up. Hit the right stores and the right sales tho and you can do alright. It's made me more sale savy for sure.
We get our chicken, milk and eggs at Costco, so it helps a little with stuff like that.

Yup, I feel the exact same way about getting to the gym. Hell right now I get off in 30 minutes and can't wait because within 1 hour I will be in the gym...think after a while that endorhins rush is addicting...plus I love making gains and just feel better after a good workout.
When I did the 5000 calories a day it got so expensive, even just the protein powder alone was costing me over $100 a month; went through at least 2 fiive pound jugs a month...
Fine Rob, ignore my question on if you will lean out or are just going for size!
Bulldog's Motto: F*ck around and I'm going to bite you!!!
I'm goin for size right now. I wanna hit 225 and stay at the same BF % I'm at right now. Doing the Rugged Maniac in Nov. So we've been doing trail runs and long hikes to prepare, tough putting on any weight doing that shit.
Have lost 69 pounds since February...
Work out six days a week... Weight lifting on MonWedFri, Cardio/Planks on TueThuSat. Rest up and no exercise on Sun.
Eat eggs/chicken for breakfast, salad for lunch, and basically skip dinner... Not recommending this to anyone. It just works for me and my weak slow digesting stomach.
Feeling DAMN good!!!
Downside? Going from size 42 to 32 pants and keep buying and wasting clothes as I shrink... Happy, but costly...

Thanks John, but honestly, if you start off as a serious FAT ASS like me, it's not hard to go down in weight... The good news is that I'm enjoying the workouts so I should be able to keep this going long term, not just a short term and rebound back to fatness...

I've seen bigger. But I'm glad you put your mind to it and kept with it. It's better in the long run. You have a beautiful daughter that probably wants her dad around for a long time.

Got my re-up of supplements coming at the beginning of next week. Back in the gym!
I'm already down ~15lbs since I started this at the beginning of August, and have been about 50/50 on sticking to the workout/eating regimen.
If I can get down to ~230, I'll just start hustling kids for their milk money instead of working.

I was around 270 lbs at the beginning of the year, always out of breath and lazy/tired... Got sick of being out of shape and eating bad, so one day I just started busting my ass every day. As of today, I'm down to 201 lbs. Since I'm only 5'10", I'd like to get to 185 lbs, but we'll see how far I can go...

Week 2, of Insanity
For me, it's getting easier. They are just starting to recycle workouts (Saturday's and today's was a repeat) and I already feel pretty good about it. To keep up at the exact pace, does really push you, and I can't keep it up all of the time, but it's not as hard as the first week. It was nice to have Sunday off, but the workouts are so short that I don't know if it's even necessary? After last Wednesday, my body never really felt too fatigued. The only thing that I've been doing outside of Insanity, is stretching more. I feel like they rush through stretching, and it's too important to rush through. So at night, when we are reading or watching TV, I'll do some extra stretches and it really helps out.
The good thing is that I can tell that I've lost weight already. I don't have a scale, but my clothes are fitting much looser and I'm starting to see some muscle. I have yet to locate my abdominal muscles, but I have faith that there in there...somewhere.
Also, Angela yelled at me when I told her I was reviewing my workouts the way I was. Just to add a disclaimer, the cardio aspect of these workouts isn't that hard for me. For the past couple of years I have done some very long cardio workouts and so endurance isn't an aspect that I had /have to work on. I'm not saying I'm great at it, I've just done a bunch. So if you try these workouts and think that I'm full of crap, you're right. I probably am.
Holy mother f'ing food. I would be pushing 300 lbs if I ate that shit! I have pretty much the same food everyday.
6:30- 1/2 bagal w/cream cheese
9:00- Yogurt (we mix our own with greek yogurt, blue berries and a little agave) plus a banana.
12:00- Turkey sandwich on whole wheat w/mustard/cheese and some pretzels.
2:00- mixed nuts and an apple
6:30- meat/veggie/side
Besides coffee in the morning and the occasional beer, I only drink water.
Damn Yusuke! That's awesome!!!! Way to go, I hope you keep it up.
My normal diet (for gaining weight)
5:30 Corn flakes with Whey Protein mix and berries
8:30 3 scrambled eggs with ham or sausage
11:00 Turkey or chicken sandwich
1:30 Greek yogurt with fruit along with almonds
3:30 Pre-workout drink Muscletech naNO Vapor
5:30 Post workout drink GNC Beyond Raw Rebuilt-MASS
7:30 Dinner - meat and veggies. Usually chicken or fish
9:00 Cottage cheese
This includes daily vitamins (GNC Mega-Men Sport), fish oil, and Creatine Hydrochloride. Also about 80-120oz of water.
