LED bolts available locally?

Anybody know if bolts with LED lights (ideal for lighting up license plates) are available in any stores locally?

Here are a couple of examples I found with a quick search:

TIA

Re: LED bolts available locally?

I purchased some of those at the old Honda shop on Santa Fe near ACC. Now that they are under different owners, I'm not sure if they still stock that product. Worth checking out tho I guess.

Thanks - I think I know where it is... just south of Platte Canyon Grill, IIRC.

Bob, I got mine at Grandprix. Made by K&S Technologies. I think they were around $30 and they had them in stock. Talk to Chris, I am sure he will take care of you.

Got my at walmart, 2 for $3.00, auto accessory aisle. Took the bulb out and cut off half the cover with hand grinder where light would shine down on tag.

Re: LED bolts available locally?

I got the ones at walmart as well. I built a custom undertail bracket so having them shine straight out at 180 degrees is perfect for me.

They're super cheap and pretty bright, plus the resistors already soldered in so just hook them to your normal wiring and your done.

You'll need to do the grinder mod if you want them to shine down at the plate though.

Re: LED bolts available locally?

Has anyone had any problems with them burning out? I'm on my third set an have not had much luck with them lasting for more than a couple months.

Hmmm, are they getting really hot or anything strange? LED's usually last pretty much forever.

The combination of heat and the vibration of a bike usually spell early demise for any light bulb. But still, a couple months for LED's seems a little strange to me.

Re: LED bolts available locally?

Thanks everybody - I was at Performance to pick something else up yesterday and inquired about them (I've been @ offsite training all week and hadn't read this thread). They had 2 choices - the K&S ones for ~$28 IIRC, and a set by Bolt-FX for $17... being the cheap-skate that I am, I picked up the cheaper ones (they even had a "Try Me" button so you could test them out ).
