I have a need for speed! and my MVR shows it, I was wondering if anyone has a good motorcycle Radar? Dont want to drain or put strain on my battery and charging system. Also I have a 06 r6 raven and wondered where they would mount?

Cops have gotten wise to the radar detector business. Lots of them are using lasers (not detectable until its too late) or they have radar guns that turn off between blasts, which make it harder for the detector to catch in time. Also, I hear if you get pulled over with a radar detector then you don't have a prayer for getting off easy. My suggestion would be that if you do get a radar detector, make sure it is the most current and top of the line you can get your hands on. GOOD LUCK! Sound like you need to get out to the trak!!!!
I would love to get out to the track just need to get some gear and loose a few pounds.
I use a "Bel 946" with a "Saeng" stem mount, and run the audio to my helmet with an Autocom Pro-7 Sport communication system. Not a 100% guarantee but no tickets to date. AA battery powered up until this week when I wired it in to bike power! Ultimately would like to swap out entire system for the remote mount "Escort SR7" with Laser Jamming. Got the idea for this a few years back when I saw a Busa at the Suzuki Fest at Copper Mountain with a "Blinder" installed. A pretty trick installation, he had the jammer mounted above the instrument cluster, and did a real nice job of cutting the smoked windscreen out, and riveted in a clear piece of plexi so the jammer had an unobstructed view of the road ahead. No FCC regulations on jamming laser in the U.S. as of yet. No idea of how the PoPo will react to being jammed, but I would bet it wouldn't be very positive.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."
My setup is ghetto but works. I disassembled the dc adapter that came with my escort x50 and stuck the metal ends under the proper terminals on the battery. I did this because my radar detector currently is hardwired into my car. I then stick the unit itself in my tank bag. It works, but will soon be replaced by a hardwire kit and the detector itself will be velcroed to the bottom of my windscreen.
"Instant on" radar has gotten the better of me once before. I do use a radar detector, but I don't rely on it exclusively. After a while you get to where you actually think like a LEO and begin to know where to slow down. Just keep asking yourself "If I wanted to make money for this county, I'd hide over xxxxxx"
It's also a good idea to pay attention to oncoming traffic. If everyone coming your way is in nice, slow formation, you might be headed towards a beam. My last ticket was over 3 years ago.
I think the radar detector would be good for long trips. So no need for one I have a sport bike not long trips here and if I really want to get some speed going its gonna be at the track. Radar jammer on a bike??? Well if a cop sees you blazin by.... jammer or not your busted.
