I love the "thank you" threads, but wanted to share the photos I took of the day's events. Nope, these are not photos of you guys out on the track, but rather, these are candid shots of what went on behind the scenes. So, without further ado, here goes...

WARNING: this will be several posts...


Riders who were new to the track took a class in the morning.

Several racers took time out to teach the new riders a thing or two about the track.

The day was filled with time on the track for riders of all levels. The instruction was always there, as well.

Organization included alloted time for the various levels of riders.

I wish you could see the smile shining underneath that helmet...

Not only were people there to aid with track instruction, but others came out to help riders with various bike performance maladies.

Time for some silliness, too...you know it wouldn't be a post from me without it. All my "friends" seem to like to flip me off...what's up with that? Oh, wait...I said "friends"...aw man! j/k

Waiting around the day before got kinda monotonous...so, we "played" for a bit, trying really hard to not watch the clock.

You can find the strangest things if you just walk around for a bit.

You need to get a certificate from an MRA approved school, such as Ricky Orlando's "race" class, or the MRA school held at Pueblo before each season in the spring.

I'm sure there are other classes out there. Most are 1-day courses. ROCK!

Look on the 'Contact the MRA' page on mra-racing.org and contact mark schellinger. He is the new rider director and a GREAT teacher, you can do a class w/ him or another certifiable class, or take the mra race school (i highly recommend that if you are waiting untl next year)

Awww...life is so much more fun when it's shared with friends. Shhh...I won't say anything about what I truly think of that pic.

Sure was a fun day, though. You got one on me with being able to ride on the track. Next year...I'm thinking I may just join in the festivities...we'll see what the next months bring. Until then, see ya out and about in the canyons.
