    MRA Class Today 4/18

CSC riders made a pretty good showing in the mock race at the end of the MRA class today at PMP. Chris (Aracheon) took first, Scott (Super-zHero) took second and I took third. Garrett (firefghtr) was in the top ten. There may have been others that I'm unaware of.

The class was great. Chris, Garrett and I had Mike Applehans as an instructor and I learned a lot today. I went noticeably faster than I had before down there and that is a sure sign of good instruction from both Mike and Mark. Once I got the hang of the line Mike showed us through turn one, I was going through there with a big smile of my face.

The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

A friend of mine was also there and said he had a good time as well. He was on the TL1000R.

Yesterday was an absolute blast, and thanks to Mike's able instruction I was able to identify the parts of the track where I'm losing a lot of time... namely turns 1 and 4.

And on that note... there was a photographer or two out there - does anyone know who they were or how to get ahold of them?

The MRA school was SWEET!! The MRA reps and my instructor Ben was great. Once he showed me the correct lines....it was on. I had a fantastic time and experience at the track. The grid take off's were so much fun. Side note: I had a wiring problem with my bike right before the first outting and a couple of the MRA reps diagnosed the problem and put my fairing back on while I got leathered up for the sesson......I was surprise to see how helpful they were and how they jumped right in to help so I wouldn't miss any of the sessions. They and Mike (another instructor) even called Faster and they all troubled shoted the problem. Those guys made a lasting impression cause I thought I wouldn't be able to ride at all and I appreciate all their help! Met some cool people (everyone was cool for that matter) THE MRA GUYS AND INSTRUCTORS GET 2 THUMBS UP. THX

When is the next open track day?????

The one race I don't want to miss - and I don't think I'm going to be able to have the RR prepped in time. But if not, I'll at least get my corner working hours out of the way and play catchup for the rest of the season.

    I'll be running Novice GTU.

That's going to be a shitload of fun. I already told Mark I wanted to do that. Now we just need to get a couple others from WSS to come play too.

The school was my first track experience and I can't complement the MRA staff enough. Those guys were top notch and I can't wait to do it again.
Special thanks to my instructor Jim Brewer. He was awesome.
